A web search of [singapore "art house" elephant] brings up:
Quote:
Old Parliament House in Singapore is one of the main architectures in Singapore. The building is now renamed as Arts House at the Old Parliament.
It has an elephant statue in front.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Parliament_House,_Singapore
Quote:
A bronze elephant is located at the front of the Old Parliament House which was a gift from King Chulalongkorn or King Rama V of Siam (now known as Thailand) as a token of appreciation after his stay on 15 March 1871.

This might be the place.

Bilbo in chat has contacted a guy in Singapore, but hasn't heard a response.

Gerri is a player in Singapore - she would LOVE to pick it up, I'm sure. But she hasn't posted in over a week. She should have seen this last night if she was checking in every day.

I have a co-worker that is currently working in Singapore. He just offered to go by on Thursday after his meetings around 3pm Singapore time. Unfortunately, I won't be awake when he goes.

I'll let you know how it goes.

PS - Gerri - if you see this, go ahead and go. If you get there before 3pm, just leave a note with the code. Better yet, I'll send my co-worker's e-mail to you in a PM, and you can coordinate so that only one of you goes.

If nobody minds, I'm in Singapore so I might pop by before 3pm. I'll leave a note if I do.

I just talked to my co-worker.
He says it's been raining solid for 2 days there, so he didn't get a chance to go today.
AC07 - if you get a chance and the weather is bearable, go ahead and get it. I told my co-worker that I'd contact him if we still needed his help this weekend, but that we'd try to let a player get it first.

A little hard to find but got it:

I left a note there but it's probably washed away by the rain by now.

Great, AC07!!!

The title of the article is "La Juro" - "The Law" ...

EDIT: the title seems to lack "^". J^uro = Oath

Well done AC07 - great work! Very Happy

What was the pickup like? We hear it's been raining solid!

As for the new chapter, we were wondering whether those half circles were going to be significant.

Something about the planets in the Multiverse then?

Looking forward to the translation!

Well, that makes sense. We know from Eli that an Omphalos allows you to go anywhere from a central location. And, sensibly, there must have been an original world from which all other decisions have been made and branches split off - the 'trunk' of reality, to keep with the tree analogy. So it makes sense to call this original world the true single Omphalos - the single location from which you can go anywhere you want.

And, 'vi devas lerni'... the gods speak? The gods speak the law? ... something like that. It also talks about the Oracle of Delphi.

What are those scratchy marks at the bottom?

Sorry, I was wrong. The title seems to lack "^", and perhaps not "The Law", but "The Oath".
'vi devas lerni c^i tiun j^uron' = you need learn this oath

Ch 18 Translation!

Chapter 18

The Oath

On every world which celebrates the Multiversal Olimpiad, the agonothetai recite the following oath at the opening ceremonies:

Of course, in some worlds this is a public ceremony - in others, a secret ceremony.

You must learn that oath, and teach it to your own agonothetai.

All of the parallel worlds are equally real.

But one is the original world, the world from which history was born, the world from which is the source of all assembled knowledge.

The original world is the true unique omphaloi, the umbilical of reality itself.

There the Oracle of Delphi first acquired vision.

There the Oracle of Delphi brought about the first who saw the many, the first who saw the six, the first who certified the blood.

We will protect the one true omphaloi against the change, by means of the glory of our sport, and the honor of our teams.

We convene in the spirit of unity. We rescued the one to save the many.

As one circle of athletes we celebrate the world, for the celebration of all the worlds.
--------------------------------------------

(I edited a few items, after further research. "Kompeneble" means, "Of course", rather than "Understand".)

Ah, no wonder I couldn't find it in the dictionary: there was a typo in the document itself!

(also, most translation websites and dictionaries I've seen use "x" to denote the circumflexed letters, i.e. cx, sx, gx, ux.) The word was typed as "sirmos" when it should have been "sxirmos".

The neat thing I saw was the similarity of the word "blood" (sangigo) and the word "change" (sxangxigxo). Those little marks change the meaning completely, hm?
