Horray, the Case 1017 thing seems to be winding down(though I hope I'm wrong about that), and I love hellboy, and would like to get into a new game, so this timing is perfect!

Wait, this is weird.

Searching hetfet on google gives you a link to a non-profit ad on craigslist for SEATTLE this time. Link here: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/vol/636573962.html

Weird thing though, is that the google search result has alternating case, almost as if it were a clue..

Quote:
HETFET.ORG SEEKS VOLUNTEERS. Reply to: comm-636573962SPLATcraigslist.org Date: 2008-04-09, 4:05PM PDT Are you a CaRing individual? Would yOu like to heLp? We need VoLunTeers now

*EDIT* through creative google searching i was able to get more of the classified ad from yesterday, before it was edited with alternating caps intact. The quoted text above is updated to reflect this. So far we have CROLVLT , not including the A in are..

No idea why the craigslist page isn't alternating like that..

For some reason they've changed the listing on craigslist..google's result had the original heading as HETFET.ORG seeks volunteers, now it just reads non-profit seeks volunteers.

strange. the caps from the short google description which is no longer current, are ACRWOL (or without sentence capitals, CROL)
I wish google had it cached, or showed more of the initial decription.

eta: bah, parent post was edited... yes now there's ACRWOLWVLT, or without sentence caps CROLVLT

Well I did an anagram search for both CROLVLT and ACRWOLWVLT and got nothing on either.

Same. Chances are they changed their craigslist page for a reason. Maybe they're going in a different direction?

Anyways, I emailed the listing in seattle, even though I'm in ohio, and offered to help out over the internet. We'll see if they respond.

This time the alt attribute matches the image text.

EDIT: Also, the original image is still on the server: http://hetfet.org/img/splash-HETFET-04.jpg , but although the numbering scheme suggests the possibility of a HETFET-03, -02, 01, I couldn't find them.

"Earthly son"

In the trailer, the Prince refers to the fey as "the children of the Earth."

fourteen?

New poem:

A very dark day in our prime,
Our planet is covered in grime,
Pray hear our concern,
All ye to learn,
Five plus one less than a dime.

This didn't work.

Given: Dime = 10

(Five plus one) less than a dime = 4

Five plus (one less than a dime) = 14

(Five plus one) less than (a dime) = TRUE

I seriously doubt the clue is hinting at boolean logic, so we can probably rule out the third interpretation. But I think it could go either way between the first two.

Looks like there's a new poem:

Quote:
From light they often make stone, Time for us all to atone, Years of abuse, From persons obtuse, One nine of a month yet unknown.

Also-- a couple random (and possibly dumb) questions: do you guys get different limericks on refreshing? I seem to be... And it seems like the naming convention for the images has changed? When i view the image on its own I now get stuff of the form http://www.hetfet.org/img/TH.jpg, with SA, ET, and LL in place of TH for the other poems. Maybe an anagram or something? I haven't reallly fiddled with it, but it seemed worth a mention.

Working on nilradical's theory that the new naming convention is possibly an anagram clue we have the letters SAETLLTH
I'm not getting much out of those, but we may be waiting for more letters. Here's what I have got:

shalt let
hell stat
the stall

None of which look particularly likely. Two words do jump out from the characters though; HELL and STEALTH, but without extra characters, they seem pretty useless.

I anagramed it and didn't even get Shalt Let or Hell Stat, only The Stall.

And just a random O/T FYI

The Stall was the name of the seventy-sixth Seinfeld episode.... Awesome.
