Yes, he can die, but Mephisto can resurrect him. SO I guess the final question is would the lightsaber cancel out on Ghost Rider's fire?

Ghost Rider is a demon (well, the "Ghost Rider" half) and cannot be killed by physical means. He has been blown to pieces before and reconstituted himself.

Before you ask, I did not read that somewhere, my brother collects Ghost Rider comics.
