Ok, I appreciate what has been said about not having enough information but frankly I can't help myself from speculating, specially when I have just woken up and my subconscious mind has been twisting things around the other way from how we have so far interpreted Marsh-Ayre's encounter...

Here's my thinking, having reread (and reread and reread) Marsh-Ayre's Book Review:

1) To escape from the obsidian mirror, you need the cards (including The World) to make 100 points - the path of Passage / safe passage.

2) BIG WHAT-IF

What if he has been travelling around looking FOR the World entity in order to obtain the World card? "It could be anywhere. It is anywhere". "How can I take all this?"

(This fits in with his description of what he is looking for, if you reread it with this in mind).

He-She says: "Put out your hand," he-she says, "and I will give you everything you came for."

3) If you go with the flow on this, then the World was the LAST card he needed in order to complete the Path of Passage.

4) That way we would know that the other cards in his possession added up to 79.

5) Therefore we need to work out which cards would give him a decent hand added to his remaining 79 (though he cannot now obtain the World).

6) As veebee noted, the Fool card can change hands a number of times - he could pass this on next time...

7) Marsh-Ayre supposes that the entity is not actually the World but another traveller. Who has a brother, incidentally. So are they also collecting cards and hoping to achieve the path of passage and escape the mirror? EDIT: Who are they? Evil twins? TweedleDum and TweedleDee?

EDIT Therefore is the real World still out there?

Thought that I would throw this out and see if it stimulates anyone, (or not).

So it looks like Dorcas came from outside and was going to kill the mirror. Where has she been hiding? Is she now in a coma and caught in the Mirror World? Do we have to get her out as well?
