How to mesure success ?

We've just launch our first, small but international, ARG few weeks ago.

www.therivardproject.com

I would like to have few hints about the way to mesure the success of an ARG. How many players you had on your games ?

We have another project, that is more an immersive environment related to a TV show. We have 18 000 players. It's a daily show in Quebec (French speaking part of Canada) and 25% of those players are really dedicated players. Average time spent on the site for each visit = 25 minutes.

I think it's a succes, since its a 40 weeks long game - you have to play each day, or each week to get the real experience of it. But I don't have any tool to compare my projects to other similar experience.

Well, judge your own success. Did it go off well? Did the players interact and have fun? Did you have fun? Did you get what you had in mind accomplished? etc
