Kinda stupid that I'm asking but anybody bothered to do a Wiki on Kishin?

Quote:
The story centers around two teenagers, Kishin Aiba and Aiko Sasahara, struggling to learn more about an incident in what may seem to be the events before The Chuai incident all the while being under siege of the monster itself before its untimely attack in New York City.

The first part centers around one of them, Kishin Aiba, and partly about the creature being taken captive by Tagruato. The second part centers more about Aiko Sasahara herself, her esteem to make Kishin acknowledge himself more and the assault of the monster on the Tokyo coastlines. Several third party characters from Tagruato and the ships make several appearances, such as the sailor Kurosaki.

While a shady scientist in the Tagruato head quarters gives an ominous warning about the events about to happen. After hearing it all on a news broadcast, Kishin and Aiko set off for shelter, the two bond together along the way. They arrive in Aiba's apartment, to acquire autographs from one of the popstars that promotes the drink Slusho! at the behest of Aiko. Kishin, reluctant at first, sees medical records of himself, strange X-rays that could be the monster's structure and ingredients used to synthesize the drink Slusho! Implying that either his mother or his own biological make-up is used somehow. The two come in encounter with a mysterious cult intending to use Kishin in a twisted experiment or a dark ritual that heavily ties him to the monster and some of Tagruato and Slusho!'s darker intentions, the two separate after a struggle with the cult with Aiko vowing to find Kishin, However, his father kills most of them before they could in order to prevent Kishin from falling into the monster's hands. The cult is depicted bearing masks that resembles the monster and carries beads or charms that holds the design of the monster's toenails at every member's person.

The idea of Kishin being tied to the monster is now confirmed after his father rescues him from the cult. He reveals that his mother sabotaged the experiment needed to study the monster by fusing her cells with the monster's own in an attempt to use it as a tool for destruction and that now also Kishin's biology helps control the monster, in this case, after he loses his mind after his father attempts to kill him by causing an explosion, he now uses the creature to cause more destruction. Aiko Sasahara, after escaping the shelter to avoid slaughter from the creature's parasites, is now left to see the horror on what Kishin has become.

The manga has a stronger focus on the viral-marketing materials such as Slusho!, The Chuai Incident, the monster, The Sea Bed Nectar and Tagruato than the film.

Quote:
Kishin Aiba
Kishin Aiba is a troubled boy, who had been repeatedly tormented by a couple of bullies in a public restroom within their school. Although he was saved from humiliation by a girl named Aiko Sasahara, they continue their activities with him and decided to leave him within the confines of an emergency safety house. He had a long history of being bullied due to his mother being "strange", and along with her, he was badly ridiculed for this. When his mother died, he was so stricken with grief that even into his teens, he wished he had died with her. His emotional torment continues, and which at the same time the monster begins to come to surface within Tagruato's oceans. He later escapes the school grounds with Aiko's help to his house after seeing news coverage about the monster. Here, the two bond together while on their way to Kishin's apartment to seek shelter, only to stumble across an unknown cult hell bent on using him for a dark purpose tied to the monster. He was last seen under the mercy of the cult. Unlike his mother, Kishin and his father are not on good terms as seen in some panels. Medical records seen at his father's room, along with the cult tracking him down, heavily implies that Kishin is part of a series of experiments, scientific or mystical, that ties him to the product Slusho! and The monster itself. In the third chapter, it is seen that his system has been mixed with the monster's own stimuli to allow him to control it without him falling to its wrath. Kishin's father confirms this as an act of sabotage by his mother, whereby she also used the monster's cells but died in the process. Kishin succumbs to madness and now uses the monster to cause more destruction. He is able to control the monster without it harming him, it thinking that the child is its kin or brethren.

Yeah it vaguely fits the story so far. But wiki in general is the worst source for information considering anyone can change it and if enough people change something its changed on the wiki. For instance Steven Colbert told his viewing audience to go on wiki and state that African elephants were no longer going extinct. The next week he was happy to announce that because of him and his audience, African elephants are no longer extinct and for proof he said to check out wikipedia. Now im not stating this may be in this instance, But ill wait till Kos' translates the rest of part 3 before i go on wiki info. thats just me tho Very Happy

not to toot my own horn, but check cloverfield.despoiler.org.

we've done a hell of a lot of work covering ANYTHING from the film, the ARG, and cloverfield/kishin. the kishin page has been my responsibility... though i confess that i have yet to write super-detailed character bios for any of the folks in the manga. i was planning on doing that after all the manga episodes were out, and the full story and background for the characters was known.

i will ask y'alls opinion, though. the dark-haired scientist from kishin 2 (you know, "and then the transport order of HIM"), is that kishin's father? it looks a hell of a lot like him, but at the time of the second issue, i couldn't be sure.

after seeing him again now in episode 3, i agree with you. seeing the same whispy bangs over his forehead, it looks just like the scientist is the second issue.

Yeah thats were things get weird to me. So kishin's parents were tagruato scientists... But Kishin's mother apparently was or is a part of the cult. the cult leader said she had many efforts to hide the vestages. So is tagruato secretly run by the cult? and if the cult wants to rid the world of self-profiting humanity, wouldnt tagruato fit into that catagory? Ive got quite the theory ive been thinking up and it seems to fit. I believe that this cult is behind all the viral sites we see besides the 1-18-08.com site and that site is someone leaking us photos from japan maybe. Someone stated that in the photo of the nightvision bombing out in the water it couldnt be the japanese military because they dont have those boats/planes etc. But how can you be so sure in our day and age, with top secret things and what not. Not to mention Japan is one of the superpowers of the world.

well, i just read the wikipedia article about C/K, and it rather pissed me off. unless the person who wrote it is either COMPLETELY fluent in japanese or english, or what they wrote is a crock of sh*t. apparently, and i'll even put it in quotation marks to further my point, "tagruato was trying to do experiments on the monster, kishin's mother fused her cells with it to turn it into a tool of destruction". how that ties into the cult, i'm not sure. we'll have to wait on kosmo to see what truly happens in the end, becos i'm just not sure i buy that. but, who knows?

yeah, it would seem that japan would have to have something in that order. even in the manga we see fighter planes and battleships. i'm not sure that private corporations can own military weapons to that extent.

it could very well be possible. hell, the cult could even be tidowave itself, or a part of it. just like tagruato masks itself as this amazing, world-bettering drilling company, tidowave could be masking itself as a peaceful, nonviolent protest group. on the tidowave website, there was a weird message post from "missingteddyhanssen", and the message is basically calling out tido for brainwashign teddy with their cult fanatic ways, and that they never even tried to search for him. needless to say, the poster got a reply that said something to the effect of "stop what you are doing. there is nothing for you here". i'm not sure exactly.

seems weird, and to me, seems to have some connection with all the game sites being tagged with the sword.

Haha man you hit my theory right on the head i had in another forum the other day.

http://1-18-08news.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13156

Ive had this theory stewing in my mind since the second comic came out. but never really delt into in more until the 3rd comic.
