DVD commercial

its probably trout but search yielded nothing right off the bat, I just saw a commercial for Cloverfield on DVD, nothing new really, just shots from the movie, SOLs head, the monster, and it will have NEW DECLASSIFIED FOOTAGE so, ya

i just had a thought, maybe instead of just our little group of characyers footage we'll have news broadcasts military footage, other home videoes and reports of the aftermath. Its a good possibility.

I saw the DVD ad last night.
Why is it that everything outside of the actual movie, itself, seems to be half-assed? Did they just throw so much of their energy into the movie that they've got no inspiration left for anything else?
Or are they now just trying their best to piss off the people who've been so loyal to the film and its semi-sorta-pseudo-ARG/ARE?
Maybe it's a subtle attempt to cock-block (so-to-speak) the sequel.
