Logical brain: Oh, sweet. Note to self, utilize real Internet at work and leech that trailer first thing in the morning
Emotional brain: OMG IT'S ONLY 8:SOMETHING GRAB LAPTOP GO TO STARBUCKS NOW NOW NOW
Legs: dude, we are not getting back on the bike and going anywhere else tonight.
Cursed be the dialup, for it is hell of slow.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
oh jeez, I just tried the "make omph knot" command. I'm not sure what just happened here. It was very pretty, but now what?
ETA:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Okay, the full significance of this remains to be seen, but the current state of my Omphaputer screen explains the plain-white-square favicon on the Omphaputer, thelostring.com, and findthelostring.com. Huh.

and of course the quick sheets shown around this one
I was intrigued by this screencap, since it wasn't something that I saw in my own frame by frame perusal:

I found that this is a picture of an "Ostracon", which is general term for a piece of pottery with scratched words on it (root of the word ostracism):

I don't know how much different my stuff will be, but FWIW, my collection for this trailer is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/shiny_sink/sets/72157604540585152/ .
Edit: By the way, most people exit the room fairly quickly (including Eli)...but there are 2 men who leave (separately) after the significance of the swirling dots/etc. has become all but completely clear. One of them you only see the back of his head; the other you see his face. I caught 'em both in my captures.
Silly Eli, leaving his funky-awesome presentation running after he's finished speaking...
(Edited because I accidentally double-posted...hopefully I can still delete the 2nd one now)

[wild spec] Wouldn't it be something if that last guy to leave was Theo ?[/wild spec]
eta: Nice find on the Ostracon, dante. It brings to mind the scratches on that second postcard that Monica found, and the scratches on the Vancouver artifact that RobMagus described in chat. Maybe those scratches have a greater significance?

Yeah, I was thinking that...it seems like the leaving of that guy is kind of hidden in plain sight in the video, because you're so wrapped up in watching the pretty globe doing its thing that you don't even see him leave (I didn't realize it until I was crawling the downloaded video for frames to capture).
On the other hand, it may be a little too easy(?) to be true...we'd just have to find out the guest list for the lecture (remember his last one was private) and boom, there's Theo identified.

... CRAZY.
Alright, so I don't know if anyone else has tried this yes (I'm kinda surpried no one else seems to have).
So I went to the OMPHAPUTER and inputted "MAKE OMPH KNOT". It was... unlike anything else yet.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The dots sped up as they ascended to the planet until all the dots were up there. Then they began to swirl around and fly around like crazy until finally there was some kind of oval-shaped ring (fancy that!) made of a huge cluster of white dots. There were still plenty floating around behind it. Ten the 'ring' expanded like crazy and now my whole screen is white.
omph knot creation completed
>
I'll see if can do it again and get screens. (Spoiler tags added as an afterthought just in case)

A screenshot of it would be greatly appreciated, my crappy computer just lagged during the animations

I made an Omph Knot here too, the screen swirls, and the white points keep on screen, making a white form. Then after a little while the white form expands and covers the whole screen. After some seconds, it's over and it says it has made the omph knot...
I entered the graph, then came back to the globe, and the white screen kept there. I tried to make the omph knot again, but it says:
Make: Target OMPH KNOT has already been made
I have tried "making" more things, but it says the target can't be found... I tried making OMPH and locations of codex, but nothing...

Lips reading Look at 50-55 sec.
There is Eli speaking without voice audio.
Can anybody read his lips?

I agree, but at least I was able to watch the youtube version of the trailer and see the pretty animation.
Perhaps it sheds more light on "August 24, 2008: Save the world"
I've also tried things like MAKE OMPH SPIRAL and MAKE OMPH PRETZEL, without success.

I'm not sure it's relevant, but this would date that specific ostrakon to the year 461 b.C.

Looks like he's saying "...find a way get to the very heart of the question, why was it..."

I was checking out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cimon . Under 'Military Career' it says,
"With the League's capture of Scyros, he was able to drive out the pirates who used that town as their base and he then established an Athenian colony at the location with 10,000 settlers. The new colony was called Amphipolis. On his return, he brought "bones" of mythological Theseus back to Athens. To celebrate this achievement, three Herma statues were erected around Athens."
Theseus? Connection?

Omph Knot Sure seems like we're not done with Theseus. I've been waiting for some sort of knot to make an appearance...does anyone else think the "Omph Knot" bears a resemblance to the initial physical trailhead "clew"?

See, that's close, but I think the correct command is
>B AKE OMPH PRETZEL
followed by
>OMPH NOMPH NOMPH NOMPH
...
*runs like hell*
