two brothers

Just an observation

tweedle doom and tweedle dee.

It seems we were right about who they were. Now do we need to get them to fight each other? That's what they do in "through the looking glass."

I'm sure I remember reading something about Dr Doom being based on Dr Dee, or there's some link between them in comicland anyways...

I think anyone can write stories stories Lord, though I'm also thinking we may have to make them a bit cryptic, so the other person collecting cards doesn't catch on. Especially as the names of the cards aren't supposed to be spoken in the other place.

Thoughts anyone?

Well, I just posted my story up there. Hopefully it's cryptic enough Wink

I couldn't find a link between them, you may be recalling this other superbadguy:

http://jl.toonzone.net/destiny/destiny.htm

which could still be relevant. Or not.

Added my story (or the story so far, anyway) after your fine effort, L. With more wheel of fortune references than you can shake a stick at.

Riddle

Is this riddle obvious enough (contextually) not to need an answer in the story I have sent to Thomas? I haven't included the answer at the moment, but I'm happy to edit it in. I do think it's better without, though...

What rattles in the morning, fights in the afternoon, and runs at night?

Hmmm - I'll get a consensus and post the answer if no-one gets it.

I'm terrible at riddles too, no idea...

I've posted a wonderland-themed story with a more obvious hint in case Thomas is like Batgirl and me...

Just posted a story, and discovered that my story replaced all the others - I think the editing doesn't qute work on my firewalled work PC! Eek! I think I have now restored the status quo.

Incidentally, the Five of Cups is another nod to Perplex City, as it was the name of a bar there that featured on one of the more difficult puzzle cards called 'Shuffled'.

My guess at an answer to Wukka's riddle:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Tweedledum and Tweedledee in a sphinx-like presentation?

Ok, new player here, just joined, I'm at the british library actually, after having read all the stories today and done story 1's real life task about an hour ago...only now bothered to look to see if anyone else was doing this haha. I'm going to 'spoiler' this all as I'm not sure what's ok to say.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
To beat Dr Doom from where he is MA apparently needs the Wheel of Fortune next, this gives him 33 points. There's not much you can do for 33 points, but if Dr Doom declared the Path of Kingship this would stop him from completing (he's on 80 now). leaving him with whatever his total at the end is.

If MA could then complete the path he called (or lie about which path he'd called and complete that as the door mouse says) Then he could easily beat Dr Dooms total of 80, the Path Of Man is available to MA, doubling to 90 points. If he wants to get this with the cards he has plus the wheel of fortune he would need The Hanged Man (12), perhaps we could sneak it to him if he ever gets the Wheel of Fortune?

Not sure how The Hanged Man could relate to in game events with Alice, possibly story 4 where Laurence is killed? perhaps he's a hanged man.

Whatever happens I'm loving this ARG, I'm meant to be revising for exams but when I saw the phone number in story 1 I couldn't help myself...

Welcome aboard!

The card you mention...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Hanged Man is about a change of perspective, a different point of view, that sort of thing. It's more about gaining a new, deeper understanding than death.

I like your way of thinking though, keep it up!

Oh, just reread the email I got from Daisy Hill,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
She asks MA what path he's following, and he says "only safe passage" presumably meaning he's declared the Path of Passage, worth 100 points, he obviously can't reach that now after losing the world and gaining the fool, and with the magician and hermit, both very low cards, this isn't necessarily a problem though because as Doormouse said he can lie about his path.

also just realised the first lady he exchanges cards with is death, not justice, which wakka already worked out, sorry for being slow, that also makes the points add up right for MA's 23 total in my last post which I didnt notice was wrong with Justice.

I think MA still needs the Wheel of Fortune then The Hanged Man to get the Path of Man and beat Dr Doom. If he won with The Path of Man against all these otherworldly forces that would be very suitable I think.

[/spoiler]
