I wasn't trying to make Kosmo feel bad. I was just confused by the vaugeness of the line. I've studied Japanese for a while, it's a tricky language, and I just wanted to clarify. That's all. I am sorry.

IIRC, it says that Central Park is incident site U.S. 447. If just Manhattan island was separated into grids, then there would be at least 450 different sites. But I could be misremembering.

you could very well be correct on that, friend, and it's something to think about. i'm just trying to postulate how in the hell this manga is going to connect with the film (besides having the same monster). obviously, we're not seeing the film as it happens, we're seeing a military archive. i'm just throwing out the possibility that the incident site being named "447" could perhaps denote that more than one attack ended up taking place.

no one thinks you were trying to make him feel bad!!! hahaha, i was personally saying "no offense" to him becos i was identifying the fact that english is his second language. awww. there is no need for apologies!

and i was challenging you to physical combat becos we both interpreted the same line in two different ways ;D which was a complete joke. i know by now to trust your insight on these things.

I am going back through the manga (for helping you in your summaries), and looking at the beginning of the story with the last pages of this chapter, I think Kishin is going to go after those school bullies first. >_> Waste of a giant monster, I say.

agreed Smile i'd at least hit up some banks and liquor stores first. maybe a pawn shop for a handgun. i could think of nothing cooler than being tipsy, holding a fistful of money, and firing a gun into the sky while riding atop a giant monster's head. and thank you SO much, by the way.

Hah, I would get Clover to take me to Japan so I could get all the CDs I wanted without having to pay crazy shipping fees. @_@ (not much better than schoolyard revenge, now that I look at it... ^_^;;; )

The hugeness is referring to the seabed nectar. It's in the shape of tall skinny mounds. Tagruato found the mounds and was making Slusho from it. For some reason, the pod is floating around the seabed nectar mounds.

Tagruato collected the pod and brought it back to analyze it. They realized that the pod sent out electromagnetic waves. Then they found out the waves were interacting with the monster. The slimey scientist that works with Dr. Aiba notices the monster has arisen and that the awakening was unscheduled.

I get the feeling that everytime Kishin was abused, it awakened and made it's way closer to Japan. It was so close to the shore, that maybe the only thing Tagruato could do was get a fleet of ships to drag the hunk back towards the ocean. And it failed when those bullies started messing with Kishin.

When Kishin is abused, the pod inside him is abused and emits Kishins feelings to the monster.

Anybody remember the Dark Horse 4-issue Gamera: Defender Of The Universe comic series? Some strange similarities there...

Thank you people, and don't worry - I'm glad to get your corrections.

And the sentence about "Abandon"... 無くなる means "to abandon, to die, to disappear". So you could translate it as "Usleles things can die" or kinda.

I'm waiting for your corrections, you can perhaps post them on my blog - and I will take them in my translation.

I didn't mean to say I was trying to correct, I was just trying to make the vagueness ... less vague. >_<;;; I'm sorry!

So mabye that line could be translated more like...

"These useless things shall die!"

Mabye? And I must say, mad props to you for taking the time to translate all of this.

So here's my thoughts on what transpired... Not that I'm claiming full validity

So we found out that Kishin has control over the monster via implant.
He also knows that his mother was killed by Tagruato.
So the way I see it, Kishin takes Big Bad for a ride and takes his revenge on Tagruato. Basically working his way toward Ganu.

As you recall, in the Game timeline, the week of the attack by Big Bad in NY was roughly the same time as when Ganu was in NY after being attacked by protestors.

So perhaps the Tagruato ship was destroyed, along with Chuai weeks before, as a part of Kishin's vengeance. Likewise, when Kishin could not find Ganu on the ship, he hunted down Ganu in NY, most likely leading Big Bad into the city and causing destruction

Why we don't see Kishin in NY or whatever, I don't know.

Perhaps, Kishin was controlling Big Bad remotely. Or maybe he's dead, and his memories are attached to Big Bad, I dunno.

But this is just my theory.

It would make sense if Kishin were killed before Clover reached NY. Because without Kishin Clover would be like a child without it's mother and thus just start destroying everything in his path. That would go with Abrams saying the monster is like a baby who is confused.

PS: Great work to kosmopol for translating and those who are trying to help make it more clearer!
