Actually, the indentured service comment.... my history is a little rusty, but weren't indentured servants peeps who came to America, and paid their way by working for 7 years? I seem to remember something about that, but I could be wrong.
(edit) According to the Wikipedia, the number of years wasn't necessarily the same for everyone. My bad.

Still, though, if all the 7-year timespans are related (Margaret, Dana, the killer.jpg entity) then I think we're proabably pretty close to 7 years - I don't see Dana saying that she spent 7 years of "indentured servitude" if she really spent 9... if anything she'd want to exaggerate for more pity or to justify to herself the fact that she's allowing Margaret to spend money on a round-trip ticket to China as a reward for her work.
I hope I'm not just stating the obvious, but I believe the reason that Dana mentions seven years of indentured servitude is because she works for Aunt Margaret, who has been in the honey business for seven years. In other words, this is one seven-year event, not two separate events.
(And sorry about not realizing that you were fousing on seven-year intervals specifically, not just on any sevens anywhere. )

I agree with your assessment, but that means that Dana's been doing whatever Dana does for Margaret since the very beginning of this seven-year period. The killer.jpg entity had something transformative happen to it seven years ago also. I'd like to think that something about the way Margaret keeps her bees or something about the way Dana manages Margaret's computers triggered that transformation, hence this thread.
And no probem about the seven-year time periods - like I said, it could be that we need all of the sevens to fully understand the clue we've been given (if it is a clue at all and not just a red herring).

I been following this for a couple of days now but this is my first post. I found this on the bungie website ,am not sure if it has anything to do with this but it might
In 1997, Bungie released the Marathon Action Pack – a complete collection of all three Marathon titles, bundled with user-created mods and levels, and the definitive Marathon experience. But 97 also saw the need for expansion, in the shape of Bungie West – based near San Jose , California . Ostensibly set up to allow the creation of simultaneous in-house projects, Bungie Studios West started work on a top-secret, multi-format action game called Oni.

sorry dude, Oni the game was a hybrid fps / martial arts cell-shaded game where you played a butt-kicking anime spy chick
in that case, Oni i believe, is one of the Japanese words for 'demon', not 'Office of Naval Intelligence'

Digging up threads So any possibility that there's a link between the 777 in the email and the 777 on the links page? I know Bungie is all about 7's, but at this point, don't you all think that there must be something else?

The Seven Year Itch Well on September 26, 1997 the US and Russia signed arms control agreements that lasted until 2007 the date by which Russia was to desmantle launching systems as required by the second Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START 2). I doubt that has anything to do with it but just thought i would post it in case someone has an idea. Nothing much happened besides that around that time besides human cloning being banned.

Hi! Long time reader, first time poster here. I've been following ILB for quite a while now but haven't dared to contribute anything for fear of a good trouting
At any rate, if we're collecting '7' references, how about this one:
Quote:
They say that killing a spider brings 7 years bad luck. We'll see.
No idea where about it's from, just remember seeing it...
