[snail mail time] silverladder postcard

MAIL TIME MAIL TIME!

Got a postcard today from the SL fairies. I will scan it later when I hook up the scanner, but it appears to go with other cards. There is a red dot and then:

Quote:
...GOES ON TO GROW INTO IT'S OWN SEPARATE NEW ENTITY, WHICH

There is also a tiny 5 written on the neck of the dad in the photo of the card.

Yay!

:O Lucky!

I want one!

Oh snaps I changed my address.

I hope my parents don't get the card and are like "What kind of fetish is our son getting into?"

First off, yes, I know I had a vow of silence, but I think I can afford to break it for this. I got a postcard too. Will scan when scanner gets hooked up (lol it seems that no one plugs in scanners).
On the front of it, handwritten and small (hidden, perhaps?) is a number 4.
Also, mine has a red dot and has this handwritten on it:

Quote:
...IF EACH INDIVIDUAL PIECE RISES UP AND...

The next part I'll spoiler. The two fragments (of course) seem to go together:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"...IF EACH INDIVIDUAL PIECE RISES UP AND/GOES ON TO GROW INTO ITS OWN SEPARATE NEW ENTITY, WHICH...

Being that mine is apparently number 4 and Lisa's is number 5, it would seem they go together like this.

Oh, and Lisa, was your card an old postcard involving meat in some way?

(edited because I'm blind)

It was a family of 3, Mom Dad and Daughter, eating dinner out of these rad looking take-out boxes. They are called marathon take-out containers. The dad is totally grubbing on a nice t-bone or maybe it is prime rib. The daughter is eating french fries. I looked up the collection of cards it is from but forgot where I put the info. It is total like 1950's kitsch. I have a postcard collection and many of them are this style, so this rocks as an addition! I also agree with your piecing. I wonder how many there are in all. I would assume there are other colours as well, or why colour code them at all.

Holy crap, there's a pattern even there. Mine clearly isn't new and is also in a fifties style. It's 3 elderly sausage chefs at work. It advertises the Amana, Iowa Meat Shop. lol It even comes with a terrible pun: "Remember: 'Our Bratwurst is the BRATBEST!'"

But there seems to be a pattern here, as I said before: Three people, meat, and a color (ours being red).

This is a message. Each message is fragmented into these old postcards and ordered by slightly hidden numbers. This much we obviously know.

Here's my theory:
Say there is more than one message. This is where the color code comes in. Ours is the red message. Lets say there are at least five. All postcards, and all with red dots.
Perhaps in the future there will be a number of postcards with green dots that spell out another message.
Mine would be Red 4.
Later on there could be a green 4, reading something different, that connects with a green 5.

Long story short (too late), there are our red cards, which group together, and, later, perhaps another group of, say, green cards that don't connect with the red cards, but form their own group.

Okeydokey. Other than the fact that the front of the postcard consists of three panels, the whole three people pattern is gone. Also, the meat theme seems to have disappeared as well. However, the card itself appears old (and probably is) which keeps to that particular style.
The number on the front expands our message a bit:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"...SCATTERED IN SMALL PILES OF FRAGMENTS ACROSS THE WORLD, OR/IF EACH INDIVIDUAL PIECE RISES UP AND/GOES ON TO GROW INTO ITS OWN SEPARATE NEW ENTITY, WHICH..."

Still makes little sense at the moment, but it's definitely forming something.

Alright, I got 5 min to post.

1. Am I really the only one with thier scanner continuously hooked up?

2. Did anyone actually read the text that came pre-printed on my card?

Quote:
Dear Doctor,

Just wanted to let you know how wondrful I'm feeling thanks to you and CONVERTIN, my digestant tablets and stool softners. Busy as a beaver on the job! And no fatigue as before!

Sincerely,

Your Chronically Underweight Patient

Yes beaver is italicised (sp) on the postcard. Between that comment and the antique colon cleanse...

This is is just wrong on so many levels... Shocked Silly Laughing

ALso: Mine has the following info on the bottom: "Collection of Don Preziosi and Newly West Klutz Press-2170 Staunton ave./ Paulto Alto, CA 94306 Catalogue Available"

I can't look up Klutz Press right now, but it would be worth looking to see if the text is stock or specially printed.

Shane does like to mention the Colon Cleanse...lol

Ok I looked up the cards, like I said before, and the theme is the collection I believe. They are all ads for some old products, the first 2 had meat and nikki's had poop that needs softening (from eating too much meats I bet). The cards all came from the same book I bet, due to their perforated edge.

I never really did read the printed text lol. That's the good ol' days for ya.
And yes, Nikki, you are the only one who uses her scanner.

I wouldn't worry too much about the areas printed on the postcards, but noting them wouldn't hurt.

I think the focus so far is pretty much solely on what our messenger wrote on the cards.

Back on topic.

I almost tossed the card. At first I thought it was junk mail, but I turned it over to see if there was a COUPON!

Okay, so I got one, too. Mine's the best, just so you know....
So, the front has a picture of an old man in a mud bath. The caption on the back just reads "Taking a mud bath at the famous Hot Springs in Calistoga, California." Underneath it has a red circle and a red square that was done with a marker. Also, handwritten, is says
Quote:
...The Sum Of...

So, I'll get pictures when I can.

So far, in order, we have:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The sum of the pieces form a circle after all or if they remain scattered in small piles of fragments across the world or if each individual piece rises up and goes on to grow into its own separate new entity, which...
