Thanks, and I'm still working on it, I'm somewhere near the two minute mark.
Plus, it's very difficult to find the notes to a 9:50 song. Thankfully, there are several bars which kind of circle around different section, so I don't have to keep re-recording that part.

Okay! Now we're off to a great start. The clip was great, but I do have a few suggestions...
I was kind of hoping for the beat to stay the same, like a slower, hard metal song. It's a little fast in almost a rock/new wave sense, but this is ultimately up to your discretion.
I'm not keen about the instrument that comes about 16 seconds in that plays the main melody of the song. It sounds a little weird, I dunno what it is.
HOWEVER. I was very, very impressed with the end part of the sample. Good j0rb. Finish it and you have my dollar! I can't wait to hear the end results.
P.S. Does anyone have a band that could produce a live sample of this? I would weep tears of blood.

I may re-enact the opera singing. But the therapy you would need after hearing it will cost you more than a dollar.

Thanks guys. That "weird instrument" is a combination of several guitars. I could slow the thing down a bit, right now its sitting at 100 bpm.
The main melody gets transferred around to different types of guitars throughout the song.
Also, there are better parts to the song now. I'll improve it, then post another sample (this one being longer, around 2:30 since I'll slow it down a bit and because I've worked on it more.).
And to think this didn't take me very long, I should have the whole song finished in no time.

SAMPLE NUMERO TWO Yeah, there is still a lot to improve, and I think it sounded a lot better faster:

any chance you can turn this into a .MIDI file? I can mess around with various instrument sounds in a program I use *Finale Notepad* and try to get it to sound a little more metal. }=D
Aside from the fact that its still in its early stages, damn good job. Inspired me to possibly try it myself.
If you cant get it into midi.... could you PM me the time signature / key of the song... and the basic notes of the two sections you have? I wanna see if we can collaborate on this thing and make ourselves a masterpiece.

I can convert it into a midi, yeah, but I've split up each of the sections of song onto separate versions of the same guitar and stuff. So it would be a bit complex to edit. I'll upload it so far when I get a chance to convert it over.

Thanks man, i can just load each version and Copy+Paste em into one file and begin experimenting with stuff.

Ha...sweet. When that's done, I will transfer it and the original version to a microchip with a mini speaker, and I'll have it inserted into my forehead so that they are heard by all.
Do they sell microchips and super-small speakers at Radio Shack?
