"Case Designate: Cloverfield"?
the 50 min dvd extra

Whatever happened to that? Is it only on the steelbook or was it just a rumor?

I think that's what became the Best buy extra DVD.

I just bought my DVD at Best Buy.

It had 2 stickers on it:

1. Case Designate: Cloverfield, Declassified New Footage & Special Features, Update Information (yellow, round)

and

2. Best Buy Bonus Disc T.J. Miller's "HUD" Video Diary. (square, green)

I don't think they're both for the Video Diary.

got the steelbook, it doesn't have it on it, unless its hidden?

There's an interesting video (very OOG, but confusing, yet hilarious) located where the SoL's head should be on the set up menu, i had to put it in my computer to find it, not sure if its accessible on a dvd player

EDIT: nvm, it appears we already knew about that

I think that probably meant 50 total minutes of documentary. The first two documentaries add up to 50 mins, but everything (not including easter eggs) adds up to 72:01. Here are the run times on all the extras:

Document 01.18.08: The Making Of Cloverfield - 28:17
Cloverfield Visual Effects - 22:29
I Saw It! It's Alive! It's Huge! - 5:51
Clover Fun - 3:57
Deleted Scenes - 3:33
Alternate Endings - 4:34
