I guess someone could pick them up and keep them for a few days to trigger the magic omphaputer into releasing the next bit of info, and then take the docs back once that's happened, just in case everything goes to hell in a hand cart and we fail miserably.

By the way, Jasper, did you happen to note what book the codex pages were stuck in? Do you think it would be in any way relevant?

I'm also trying to figure out how the leavers of these pages could have left them in that book so many years ago and assumed that they wouldn't be taken/misplaced before they were needed.

The title of the book is in the clue. The Life of Sam Houston. They were right inside the front cover. And they were on pretty thick paper, folded in half twice to fit within the book. The binding on the book was damaged- the cover was loose from the spine. The book is over 100 years old and had this inscription hand written in the front:
J.F. Battin
from Bro
Will
Christ-mas 1888

But here's the thing- items that are in the open stacks in the reading room are items that are the most popular- things that would be requested repeatedly and frequently. Everything else in their archive is in closed stacks, and you have to request the items by filling out a call slip. What I think this means is that the pages have not been waiting there in that book for long. (where have they been?) Or if they have, then the book has only recently been added to the open shelves for some reason. (why was it brought out?) Has the codex really been waiting here all this time or has it come through a portal recently as well?

Everytime Ariadne has come out and given us advice, it has been more or less important hints. If she mails you, jasper, just to tell you this, then you should keep the pages. I think this is an important one.

Perhaps we have to collect all 27 chapters physically, someday.

Is the actual "Pruvoderehavigo JR01/SPL7/AG2I/JR28/1FB7" command working for anyone? I notice that the Stephenville omphalos is still not recognizing that it has been recovered.

mrjudkins noticed that the PRUVODEREHAVIGO is now working.
I had to refresh to see that they were working.

Cardiff, Austin, Shanghai, Stockholm:
PRUVODEREHAVIGO AI7P/I5DB/J2L4/N2IR/I80T
PRUVODEREHAVIGO JR01/SPL7/AG2I/JR28/1FB7
PRUVODEREHAVIGO MB53/24NK/33A4/Z472/KAV3
PRUVODEREHAVIGO 25MC/I2YJ/LAH5/I8MR/R72S

And now (on another refresh), typing
STEPHENVILLE or DONGYING or RIBNITZ/DAMGARTEN
gives you RECOVERED!
yay!

Edit to add:
Both Dongying & Ribnitz/Damgarten also say "pending" where we expect their second artifacts to show up.
And we think Dongying is now a yellow dot (yellow = 1 artifact recovered)

You're right, of course.

[META]I suppose the PMs aren't anxious to run all over the world retrieving the pages at the conclusion of the ARG. Plus players love swag.[/META]

But it really doesn't make sense (to me) in the context of the story.

Yay! So hopefully we'll have a bunch of new dots to investigate real soon...!

And just for the record, I went back for the codex papers in Austin.

I'm sure it is insignificant, but DONGYING shows "Pending" (no period) while RIBNITZ/DAMGARTEN shows "Pending." (with a period). I'm guessing that the latter is a minor typo.

Also, both BOISE and LUNGLEI still say "Pending artifact confirmation" -- I expect the Opmhaputer will be getting an update tomorrow for at least some of these four cities. As you said, yay!

I don't know but I was also curious as to whom those hands belong. If Jorge had wanted to depict what their tattoos looked like, he would only need one hand to do it. So why the two?

I think it shows two different people's hands to emphasize different people working together.

The text on page 1 in translated " If we hadn't had the tatoos on our right arms, I'm certain we would have been unsuccessful in our mission."

So why is it a left hand in the picture? [SPEC]The traveler who was the sketch artist drew his own hand but was was right handed so drawing his left hand was easier.
