DVD and Clues Maybe its just me and the fact that I don't know what to look for.... but it seems the DVD offers no further insight to what we already know. The special features don't give you that much and theres nothing about the sword and wave logo, Teddy Hansen or anything.
If anyone knows anything, please share.

Ima wait till Transformers 2 to come out, if they show Clover 2 "previews" after that, like the first one, WHICH THEY SHOULD, but if they don't then i'd offical call it quits, unless theres news on it, but until then the first cloverfield has been spec'd out,
but yea, never really explained anything, just telling you more of what we already knew about. Was looking forward to them talking about the object falling in the water and the message at the end. :\

whoa! you just need to look for clues _ in the commentary matt reeves is SOOOOO insightful as too what scenes were filmed iin new york vs L.A. like EVERY SCENE he fills you in. wow did you know they had parasite puppets that they were going to use in the subway scene but didn't ? CRAZY! I wish he had watched the making of featurattes first before doing his commentary , seriously maybe then he would have come up with something else to talk about.

Arrrgghhh..! I purchased the DVD from Target early this morning, and there's literally SO much 'detail' in the details that repeated viewings will be mandatory in order to glean more (pity my poor hubby, already groaning in despair at another round of 'shaky-cam action' (as he so cheekily refers to it)..!

How much more stuff does the 2-Disc have? Does the casing look any different?

No, I was mis-informed.
I thought there was a Special Edition though...

I thought there was a special 30 minute extra footage for the second disc. Also I thought the dvd cover was supposed to look like a metal casing. Thats what everyone kept posting. But aside from that, I'm so glad to finally own the movie.

I've seen tv ads for something like that. The case looked like metal and the advertisement said it had "declassified footage." I had assumed that this would be the regular one, but alas...
They better not wait another two months and come out with a special edition. I HATE that!

DVD and Clues I have the "Steel Book" edition. Its just a single disc and frankly, I'm not sure there's anything different other than the cover...which is really silly if you ask me. They market it as a special edition and you expect something truly special but instead just get a different case....Oh and I might add that the metal case does not come with any inserts...meaning no info about the film, no track lists or anything like that.
Wasn't the DVD supposed to have a downloadable MP3 of "ROAR!" The Cloverfield Overture in it?

I think the 30 minute bonus disc is TJ Miller's Video Diary that you can get from Best Buy. Make sure it's on the back of it.

Yes, I purchased the TJ Miller version today from Best Buy. You have to look thru them all some have the bonus disc some dont and even the salespeople think they dont have the bonus disc as I asked one of them first when I didnt see it. Im glad I didnt listen to them and instead went on to look thru all of the ones they had finding the last bonus disc one stuffed in amongst the normal editions.

Yeah, buy Best Buy's edition. It's probably the best deal. Here, you have to pay an extra buck for the steel book and that has no bonus disc.
