 I am so...aggghh!

I'm sorry everyone, I really did not catch that it was in MARCH...wow that's what being up over 24hours will do...

I'll be more careful next time Smile promise!

~Amber

Edit: I did some research on Ellijay, Ga and:

The Appalacia Hwy runs right thru it
There is a Walmart in their city
There was a prominent Dr in their town, and the residence is now a historical site.

I'm tempted to call down there and find out more on the dr...

I added http://www.hurtstoheal.com/ to StumbleUpon. As long as it gets a few more thumbs up from other SU users, lots of people will see it and hopefully register on the forum. (By the way: The main page now links directly to the Hall of Judges forum now rather than .../engage .)

If the Doc is really looking for people from a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and locations, etc, it seems like the best way to go about doing that is via the internet (to ensure varied geographic locations). Aside from what's been done already, I'm not really sure how to do that efficiently and with good results... Anyone submit to Digg yet? Not sure if it would make it far on that site, though.

We also have to consider exactly who we're going after. The average Joe Schmo isn't going to get involved in this.

So, yeah, the Internet is probably our best option.

We could try submitting it to places like I-Am-Bored.com as well.

wow! this thread exploded while i was at work.

I was thinking that the first task is more a waiting game. There is a set number of participants that PM wants before starting. So the task to spread the word is, to put is crudely, a cost saving exercise. What i mean is, i am not sure we are expected to really go overboard.

Does that make sense?

I agree, this is why I don't think he'll give us the actual number he's set. It's kind of like a Dungeon Master fudging a dice roll, or not telling you the difficulty rating of a challenge, so that he can decide whether you actually make it or not.

At the same time, we can't afford to risk just sitting on our thumbs in case we're wrong and he really does want exponential growth and a huge number of participants. Which is why I'm still trying to do what I can to recruit people.

We have another new image on the Livepsychgallery, of a girl, with a new quote

"Between today and tomorrow are graves, and between promising and fulfilling are chasms" which a quick google search turned up attributed to Ruckett or Unknown depending on the result you pick.

Everyone make sure to do intros for yourselves in The Den. I don't know if this is required, but it's better to be safe than sorry, as I don't think the good Doctor will be too merciful when it comes to mistakes.

EDIT: I received this message from the Doctor in my email, apparently after I went to bed last night.

The Doctor wrote:
Hello, friends.

To reach the goal, each current member should recruit two more
participants
to the focus group, each whom should then do the same.

Failure to reach this mark simply means the experiment ends the day it
begins, broadcast over the internet for your job satisfaction. No hard
feelings, just the fulfillment of a research study.

Have a wonderful day!

Doc.

I'll be posting this in the Atten-Hut thread in the Sanctuary of Ethics as well.

We each need two people. Let's see if we can swing that.

From the forum mail system, I guess...

EDIT: And Amandel already has it covered over in the Task #1 Guidelines thread in the Sanctuary of Ethics. Goddamn we are a fast team.

At this point, given that we've got about a handful of days to do this in, I don't think it's bad form to walk around with a cardboard sign hanging around your neck. So yeah, far as I'm concerned, go for it.
