Good find, dc! It gives us some more significant numbers since A.L.I.C.E. is 400 years old.

I'd say maybe try doing the whol thing clockwise or anti clockwise...i.e head east, go clockwise round the 8 head back to the office go south go 'one way' go back to the office then do rooftop, schoolwork, fight then back to the office...either that or anticlockwise, rather you than me though, the long loading times on the nodes annoy me a little bit.

Bracing myself for a trout (or a "duh, yeah...") but it's obvious that the story is based on (former General) Musharraf's current troubles. Is there a Pakistan connection we're overlooking?

well the author's pakistani so that's it's a pretty good bet it's based on President Musharraf. I don't know much about him though so I don't knw whether that helps with the story or not...anyone have any ideas?

Another tale.

Okay, I tried going a different route round the story loops, making some observations as I went. I use the Node Code that I used in the earlier post EDIT: Map added:-


1, 2, 20,
[ I went for the story first since that's described in the first box: "You ask for a story to be told". And I decided to go clockwise round.]
21, 22, 23, 22, 21,
[ I was just testing here whether looping back in mid-story altered the paragraphs in any way – it didn't! So I carried on.]
22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 20,
[ I think the contents of paragraph 20 are slightly different, so I decided at this point to go back round the story loop the other way - anti-clockwise ]
27, 26, 25, 24,
[ but discovered the paragraphs haven't changed]
23, 22, 21, 20, 2,
[Back at the office the text has changed – no mention of lawyers this time. The rain is suspended as if waiting to fall – I decide to reminisce while I wait. I choose to go roof, then schoolwork, then fight...]
3, 4, 5, 4,
[Heading for the roof first, paragraph 4 has changed slightly on the way back. This happens again on the loops back through paragraph 6 and paragraph 8]
3, 6, 7, 6, 3, 8, 9, 8, 3, 2,
[Back in the office again, I decide to go back to the story loop to check if anything changes...]
20, 27, 26, 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20,
[...but it doesn't so it's back to the office again.]
2, 10, 11,
[ I choose the meetings loop first - heading South.]
12, 13,
[Although the curtains are drawn, the rain is now pictured as falling. Is this relevant? i.e. You can't take this side of the loop first because of the way the office paragraph changes – or can you? I digress!]
14, 15,
[At this point I decide to use the new access back to the Hallway and enter the studios clockwise.]
10, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 10, 2, 1
[Story ends back where I started.]

I try to catch myself thinking spatially (any patterns I draw), mathematically ( any numbers or routeways) and of course using language (how critical are the order of the events in the actual story, and does anything else change depending on which pathway you take.

EDIT: - Here's a different route I tried. Nothing much to add to the observations above.
1,2,20,27,26,25,24,23,22,21,20,2,3,8,9,8,3,6,7,6,3,4,5,4,3,2,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,10,2,1

1608 (or 1609) being the date quoted in Wikipedia as the death date of a one John Dee...
