Possible location
im not really sure how the locations work but heres my idea

ok,
i first worked out the distance between

Melbourne, Australia and Parepare, Indonesia - about 4555 km

and then had a look around a map equiped with a distanace calulator for cities the same distance away.

what i found was that the distance between

Parepare, Indonesia and Okayama, Japan - about 4555km

other locations of about the same but no where near as similar as the two above are in India, Banglidesh and China.

btw with the distances they are the same just depends on zoom and meausring point.

i thought this is a likely spot to place a clue scince Noriko lived there.

{spec} why did she move with the posibilty of a artifact in her area of japan , or did she want to give players a chance to get it??

the google map went into japanese if i went in any closer so i couldnt get an exact location for the omphuter.

well heres some flickr images

and the site with googel distance maps

unagi just posted that parepare now has a second artifact

PARAPARE gives you
Navigate 2460 Demeter 22 degrees.

if we assume 2460 is a typo, and it's 24640 like the Melbourne one.
then Demeter 22 degrees takes you near wakayama, Japan.

Actually, Demeter 21.5 degrees lands you right there.

Parepare/wakayama isn't working
so we probably need to spell wakayama correctly.

edit: is confusing wakayama with okayama

Now the command PAREPARE shows the below!

>PAREPARE
Omphalos identified
Navigate 24640 Hestia 25 degress
Navigate 2460 Demeter 22 degress

But why is the distance different ?!
Even if we assume the same distance 24640, it hits mountains in Japan!

Correction.
21 even lands you in downtown wakayama.
21.5 lands you in the mountains.
22 even lands you in the mountains
22.3 puts you on the coast.

Thank you, and sorry, I overlooked your post.

Each of Wakayama and Okayama has only one way to spell.
We tried them for many times at Noriko's forum.

EDIT: Thank you Dante.
We tried Osaka/Ousaka/Ohsaka, Kobe/Koube/Kohbe, Kyoto/Kyouto/Kyohto, Mie, Nagoya, Nara ...

Why! I'm almost going mad!

To me it looks like it should be PAREPARE/OSAKA but that doesn't work either...

fyi - the omphaputer has been updated with the correct distance.
you might want to refresh until you get the updated omphaputer, and try some of your best guesses again.

Unagi is probably posting the same thing even as I write, but the people on Noriko's forum [Nitrogen] finally got it:

PAREPARE/OKAYAMA
Code:
Café Mo da TACSUM
Behind counter
Taped envelope
Artifact seekers: Take care!

http://www.asunam.com/tacsum.html

I'm not sure what to make of that last line...
