Nothing the mods here like better than deleting threads that offend their sensibilities, yessir.

Personally, I prefer to keep threads that offend my chaste sensibilities because, well, they're funny. In a sad, kind of pathetic way. It brings joy to my existance to point, laugh and shake my head in disbelief. So I thank you, oh happy, argumentative, silly people, for once again causing me to snort beer out my nose. This Bud's for you.

And I agree. Its silly. Just to keep things on topic.

You know, I actually believe you sit alone in front of the computer, stand up, point at the screen, and laugh out loud when you see something you disagree with. However, I don't believe you drink beer.

Sure, but how many solutions have anything to do with Halo 2 and have every word make sense? Only one so far ...

That's a valid point, and deserves a real answer. Plenty of theories are built on precisely this kind of sand, because it seems so compelling, even after a lot of thought. (Think "The Bible Code.") The problem is that most anagrams beyond the trivial have rich information spaces to work in. With enough letters and an entire language to work in, we can come up with a lot of permutations that make reasonable sense.

The average length of a word in the anagrammed "ILoveBees" text is 5 letters. If we assume n!/(n-l)!, where n=number of letters to be anagrammed and l=length of the word to create, there are something like 15,379,764,780 possible 5-letter permutations of the original text on the website. Obviously, many of these aren't valid English words, but it gives you an idea of the size of the tumbler space we're looking at.

Here's several minutes worth of trying. It's got everything: Halo, suppressed sexual yearnings, a morbid fear of dirt, human resource policies, and a conspiracy of fish. It's better than a Don DeLillo or Umberto Eco doorstop:
Quote:

HALO TWO SUCKS: INTEREST IN HALO MISPLACED.
BUNGIE SELLS OUT PFHOR CASH AND WILL RUE THE DAYS.
BEST TIME WE COMPLETED MARATHON ON VIDMASTER IS 41 MINUTES.
WHOA, YOU ARE INCITING ROSS TO A NEW ZERO SUM FLEX TIME POLICY.
HECK YES, I DIDDLED A THICK CROTCH.
I TILT AND AID THE DIRE HADDOCKS.
NO I DIE, SEE, AND MY DRESS IS DIRTY.
IGNORE ANAGRAM TROLLS.
THE END.

Now, the core difference between this and, say, looking for evidence that the Knights Templar killed Kennedy is that we're playing a game in which anagrams are par for the course. So, it's plausible that the ilb message is anagrammed, and it's equally plausible that it might have something to do with Halo on August 24. Nonetheless, the sheer size of the space means that the mere existence of an anagram in this vein is not sufficient to prove that it was placed there intentionally.
