I'm sorry ummortal, I guess I'm not just on board with your idea. I like the way it's going and I don't want the game to be ruined for me because:

Quote:
Any well-executed orderly plan could fail when faced with an determined and unpredictable opposition..

That's not fun to me, but please, continue.

Point #1:
As I have said before, if it's a tightly controlled narrative bordering on the equivalent of a mere story of interactive fiction, then our actions will have little impact on what takes place.

It will simply be a puzzle hunt (with swag) that yields bits of a pre-determined story, told through a cross-media platform.

Point #2:
The mythology of Batman may revolve around the good guy winning in the end, but it's a pyrrhic mythology. The victories come at great costs and only by sheer strength of will. Let's not forget that Batman isn't a saint either.

This is a man who tells the Martian Manhunter, that it costs him millions of dollars at auction to buy a crystal of kryptonite (if necessary against Superman) and that all he needs for Manhunter is "a match".

Point #3:
Just because we are trying to coalesce a group of 'discordians' to throw a wrench in the works, doesn't mean that you yourself are powerless.

You can just as easily rally a group of people to counter.

Rather than choosing to be frustrated by busy signals, the odd person who chooses to auction swag on eBay, and what feels like a narrative that I'm observing and have no effect on, I'm choosing to be pro-active within the boundaries of the established gamespace.

Taking suggestions on what next...

Looking at the chessboard in front of us..

Dent is on the rise, the arrest of the various cops in Operation: Slipknot is only going to bolster his reputation in the eyes of the media and the public. (He already got a bump from the White Knight incident..)

Guiseppe Candoloro is verging on the inconsequential. It is likely that he'll be next on the list of heads to roll...

We have several possible opportunities:
1) Continue to push the idea that several members of the CCFABG are being maliciously prosecuted because they spoke out against Dent

2) Back Garcetti and make a play that his anti-corruption crusade is having an impact as is evidenced by Operation: Slipknot..

3) Back the "Clown prince" himself and upload videos to Dent's website with "Clowns for Dent"..

Outside of placing tips in the maidenavenue report questioning whether Rachel Dawes was ever under the influence of psychotropic drugs (and currently under such influence..)...

I will wait patiently to see what the next move is..

alright i just sent a message to the maiden avenue report saying i was cracking a security system to get into the gotham pd when i found dent and gordon plotting on how to bring down concerned citizens. they found me, blackmailed me, and i helped intercept the packages in operation slipknot to frame good cops who were just given a mission to go undercover in the intercontinental hotel, and right after all the guys were collared, and harvey was back in the race for d.a. i fled town.

unmortal_mind, those are some of the coolest observations into the workings of interactivity in ARG storylines that I've read in a long time!
Plus I really like your chessboard metaphor, and you bring up some good points about the multi-way conflicting forces in Gotham that we are dealing with.

I see you are relatively new to Unfiction...Welcome! glad to have you here!
Glad to have all of you here who are joining us for TDK!
