Per Lindoriel, Lucie's now off to Beirut and Tehran, to try to find people to run labyrinths. It's just bizarre!

(Hey, maybe Theo is Ahmadinejad. Smile )

Do they speak 'funny English' in Dubai?

Well of course their first language is Arabic, but they do speak other languages there, including English.

[SPEC] I wonder if the war and/or Israel/Pakistan struggle will come up at some point IG. Or maybe trips to Israel and various Arab countries are related to our current Middle East issues, and a (somewhat strange) attempt to unite nations? Wouldn't it be incredible to get folks from the middle east communicating with the rest of us on forums?

Markus has now affirmed that he is in Dubai. From his forum:

Markus wrote:

Ok, ich fühle mich jetzt etwas sicherer. Ich bin in Dubai. Ja, ich weiss, grosse Umstellung. Ich weiss das wir von dieser Gegend keine Freunde haben und ich will welche finden.

Was hat Ariadne wegen meinen Haaren gesagt?!

What has Ariaden said about my hair color?!

Well... There's always Ehsan.
Provided he hasn't given up on us, completely.

Revealing the "secret"

After all the things happening now and due to the fact that Markus has not answered any of my emails, I will now post the email I received from Markus:

Markus wrote:

Markus

(AUZ505) - I am not sure about my speculation. I believe I know who Theo is, but I do not want to tell it until I am 100% sure.

Please keep it secret, I don't want that person to find out waht I believe, but I have the opionion that one of us is a betrayer...

Markus

I have not posted this message because

- it is not concrete and not that helpful (in my opinion)
- it is ambigous, because "us" could be anybody from our communits, even though I think he means one of the six allies
- I didn't want that people start blaming each other - which nevertheless happened now Wink

BTW. I like this little plot twist. It is extremely important that everybody works together. But actually, like in real life, this is problematic due to prejudice, mistrust and fear. If our allies do not trust each other or Eli or Kai or... our mission is in danger.

Perhaps not Theo was the reason the former agonetethai failed, but their disability to trust each other.
(which BTW was one reason I did not post it earlier - I also have to learn to trust people Smile)

I don't think it's so bizarre. So far, the majority game has been centered around America, Europe, and East Asia; the activities of Ariadne and the gang have mostly taken place there, the omphalos pickups, even the languages the six speak. If their goal is to include the entire world, however, visiting places to get them involved seems a great way to do so. Also, I think it's important for us not to lump all of the Middle East countries, or any region of the world for that matter, into one homogeneous group. Thats like saying just because France and Germany are next to each other, it's like their the same country.

I hope politics doesn't become part of the game. The fact is that people from every country should have equal opportunity to get involved, regardless of political and cultural differences.

Well, thats that. Sorry if this is wildly inappropriate, just some stuff to think about.

Sorry, Lindoriel, you're quite right. It's just I didn't envision folks from Lebanon and Iran as being ARG players, but they very well might be!

Well, we can definitely use more players in different parts of the world to help with pick-ups and eventually labyrinths. However, I don't think that Markus or Lucie should have left before creating a stable following in their own countries that can handle labyrinth runs and draw in more help. Same for Meihui if she decides to leave for New York...
