Oh yeah. I forgot to point out that I am a Halo "freak" as well. I do have the special edition on pre-order, and I will take the day off of work to play it.
But, I am smart enough to understand that some of the clues are just normal everyday clues. But some of them must be related to Halo.

Mainly I'm wondering about the different crystals. There is a crystal in Halo: First Strike that is blown up and the Covenant get shards of it when the human/SPARTAN team think is it completely destroyed. So I'll be checking my book to see what I can find. And read the first book also to help get more info.

In my opinion, this game is still in the lift hill phase, building a player base, slowly building momentum.

That explanation certainly makes more sense than "The PMs don't know what they're doing." From what we've seen so far, they know exactly what they're doing.

On the other hand, as others have already mentioned, it is also possible that we've overlooked something that we ought to have solved by now, and that we must solve in order to progress any further. I have a dim recollection that, when we're stuck on something -- whether we know it or not -- the PMs sometimes try to give us a nudge instead of a full update. (*cough*FOUNDER*cough*) I could see ladybee777's most recent e-mail as something along those lines, since it mostly clarified things that we could already have known, and added only a little to the gameplay. I was thinking that too, but now it seems to be slowing down and losing momentum rather than gaining it.

I think the fan base of this is growing, its just that not many people know what else to do with this puzzle, so alot of people are just watching and waiting. That plus the fact that the actual ilovebees blog page has been pretty much ignored now do to excessive spammers and the like.

Don't worry Danzilla76, I'm right there with you. I too have been drawn here because of being a Halo Freak. Yet I'm willing to look for connections outside of that realm. It's the only way to keep the story exciting. I think the connections are obvious, and this time around I expect the story of Halo to be better developed in-game. I give Bungie a lot of slack for Halo's shortcomings. I mean they did have to redesign and finish the game in only 5 months while adjusting to Microsoft and moving shop to another state.

So after a few years to plan I expect an elaborate experience form them. One that surpasses everything they have done before.

That's why I believe this ARG is wonderful and is just getting itself rolling.

I think we are missing something. I suspect that once we figure out what it is, we will all kick ourselves.

I also think that the PM's may need to prod us in the right direction. I've learned from life that if you are putting a lot of work into something and recieve no results, you're going about it all wrong.

Try as I might, I've come at this thing from many directions, with nothing new to show for it. That's why the few posts I've made aren't that insightful. All of the puzzles that were obviously puzzles were solved before I arrived and most of the valid points were already made.

I don't like drifting, and that's what I think we are starting to do. We need something to materialize soon inorder to find our bearings again.

God...I now know how Melissa felt in the beginning.

Lets take heart, look at what we still have, and wait to see if any of our lines get nibbled on.

It seems more to me that most of the knowledgable players are wandering off and we are left to drown in a dearth of new info and a glut of newbies who feel compelled to inform us that Melissa is really [Insert Character from Halo 1].

don't worry atoner, us "old timers" (yep, i go all the way back to last week! a few hours before phase 2) are just getting sick of the smell of trout

actually, i've been reading alot, but just don't have anything to add... been doing alot of spec in my head, but nothing that's worth posting

but you're right, its just a bunch of people coming late to the game and spouting off about Cortana and Guilty Spark... part of the problem i think is the Wiki, it needs to be reorganized, its hard to find 'real' info on there, and there are newbies now using it as a pseudo-message board, and posting wild spec... if someone can fix (simplify?) the wiki, some of the trout should die off

So my own IMHO, we have PLENTY of puzzles to solve within without drowning in a sea of trout on Halo mythology.

The biggest example I can think of, the bee sound file. It has PLENTY of information contained within it, and it has yet to be solved.

Another on my own, the website password entry thing is the gateway to the next part of it all. We have information to find and plug into that box, and it isnt a mythology thing of Guilty Spark, gang....

Don't forget the Recipes - there has to be something there, and the latest e-mail, if it was a nudge, seems to be pointing us to those pages (and the missing Chapter III).

OT - Tony, I was cracking up over your Traf-O-Data comment in another thread.

Perhaps these updates from Dana are partly a way of telling us to hang in there, it's coming.

(Then again, we could just be missing a big puzzle, etc. A big difficult puzzle.)

Time between updates.

The great thing about this game so far: not only do we know that updates are in store for us, we even have a handy, dandy counter telling us when they will occur. I can even schedule them into my Palm. I've never had that luxury before. Very Happy Very Happy
