Too much bad in the world.
I'm gonna be light.
I'm still thinking of signing up. What should I expect from these guys? (haven't played Looking Glass)

EDIT: lol I signed up. Had a slight hangup on showing my address, but I figured, what the hell? A Lighthouse is me, fellow Paladins Very Happy

First, welcome aboard!

Well, let's put it this way. 17 days, 90 pages, not a lot of wasted space in that. The characters were well played, revoltingly evil (Catherine), amusingly clueless (Ivan), charmingly innocent (Joshua), etc., and you cared about them. Agravating puzzles, good plot line and story development, willingness to integrate player input into the game... I made a comment in the next one I played (VITD), "Everything seems slow after LGL." And it's still true.

I expect this one to be more developed and probably a longer time frame, but I won't be surprised if it is just as intense. There were times when the hour between work and home were critical.

On the other hand, if social interaction is more your thing, there was plenty of that, too. People were trying for days to get the spaced out surfer Dwayne to free up some vital info, but he was either too stoned or too angry to do it. I think someone finally got to him at just the right time...

If you want to read the players' post game reactions, that starts here.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, pancito! Very Happy I didn't expect such a detailed explanation, and I greatly appreciate it Smile.
I'm definitely in this now. This looks like it's gonna be gooood.

This sounds pretty cool. I signed up on the light side, which is unusual for me.

Obviously I'm new to this whole thing, but I am signed up, dammit. I chose light only because I really enjoy twinkies (sorry). I also did not put an address. This does not mean I am homeless. I live somewhere. I do. Twinkies.

Hmm, I think I'll have to hop on this one since I seem to have caught it right at the start and there's been such a positive reaction. And I do so love a good Twinkie...

Wiki

The wiki is up to date, at least on the game side. Pastry Wars is lagging a little. Eventually I'll probably seperate them, but I'm gonna wait on that until we see what we have. Things to note:

The "Timeline" (sidebar) refers strictly to game events. Pastry Wars Timeline is, well, that.

The Beacon/Shadow people lists are just Omega's list, copy and paste. He has 54 confirmed plus 16 non-declared. That leaves us about 100 short of Darklight's count. Very Happy

"The Story so Far" Dropdown has all the info we have found so far. (not much).

The wiki is also linked in my sig.

Last, redct, who made the wiki logo (in another context) also made this one, which many of you may not have seen... It was originally put up in the Darklight Forums.

I'm a complete newbie, but that didn't stop me from signing up Very Happy

Beacon of Light, of course. Darkness is so mainstream <.< But we don't have Twinkies in Sweden, so I do feel a bit like an outsider XD

Welcome to the Light. Here you shall enjoy self-righteous superiority, your own private cloud, and all of the air-filled pastries you can eat.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Twinkies are vegetarian-friendly, and, in fact, vegan-friendly, as I have a close friend who is a vegan. Not that this means that they're particularly body-friendly... I just read an article, and some of the ingredients.... Shocked

All I'm saying, fellow Beacons, is that we might wish to cut our ties with the Twinkies; we may have been mislead concerning their divinity...

Quote:
Death is not recognized unless Life has been experienced.

Sorrow is not known unless Happiness has been felt.

Pure Ecstasy is never truly felt unless profound Sadness has been lived.

How can one know Darkness when they have never seen Light?

We will never truly realize that we have been living in Eden

Until we have had a taste of the deepest depths of Hell itself.

The one shall never exist without the other,

And that Balance of simplicity must always be upheld.

For when Evil vanquishes Good,

Or when Good overcomes Evil,

Is when the fragile Balance shall tip,

And all of Reality – no matter how it is experienced –

Shall be thrown into nothingness,

A Void of everything that Has been, Is, and Will be.

Until that day, let us live and let live, and keep that Balance to be

One of complete stability…

I am wondering if this game is gonna actually pit one side against the other. If so, it will prove to be interesting, and am setting up a site for the dark side now, just in case it's needed.

Sadly I'm still sitting on the fence. Guess I'd better make up my mind about which side before long.
