Re: [PUZZLE] ladybee777 email 8/03

I see a lot of people hung up on the Halo thing, and sometimes I think that this has a lot less to do with Halo than some think, aside from the references and such. After all TMNT was referenced and no one suggests a rouge band of crime fighting turtles is behind this mystery.

With that said, after reading the email this line stuck out to me.

When I was reading this thread last night I seen a lot of good and creative ideas taking shape, and I had just got done reading an email I had received form a company saying that if there's something I wanted, just ask. It seems to me in the text I quoted that the SP or whoever wrote that message is willing to share the secret freely, so I thought why not just simply ask. So I sent a letter to the ladybee777@hotmail address and asked what the secret was that was mentioned in the email. I haven't heard anything back yet, but I'll post the response if I happen to get one.

Honey & Halo

It should be fairly obvious that this is directly linked to the Halo universe, at least in a meta-game sense. The entire body of the Operator's Monologue should be enough to prove this, even without the Halo 2 trailer.

In my previous post, I pointed out the irony that the SP(or whomever) used a very direct reference to the TMNT, one which we provided her with, to try and convey...something. I have no idea what her message is, but it should be considered significant that she closed the letter using that reference. I can only imagine the PM glee at getting that e-mail. They probably went into fits.

I'm inclined by rationale to agree that it may only have been a rallying cry. I still think it funny.

As babbler has pointed out, we need to gain her trust, & learn her secret.

Barring a breakthrough in one of the unsolved puzzles, all we can do is try and contact Dana, her aunt , or SP and convince them to reveal more.

We are free to accept, even in game, that whatever is causing this has immense resources (meta: Microsoft) and should not be underestimated. Try sending messages full of clever context that might aid in this communication.

But please, lets not be foolish.

The freedom of indepentant honey farmers hangs in the balance!

And maybe some lives...if you care about that sort of thing.

[spec] various things

I've done a bunch of searches and didn't find these, but sorry if I repeat stuff:

1) To whoever emailed the original TMNT lines... where did you get it from? Those lyrics aren't from the cartoon or the movie (that I can find).

2) What if the flea is the sleeping princess' equivalent of the Queen's spider? The queen talks about the spider not understanding the situation and being a tool, the sleeping princess talks about the flea as not being able to read and being a fool... dunno.

3) Does anyone know where to find a full text version of Sleeping Beauty (preferably the Grimm version) to send? Glass coffin and other things... a lot of similarities.

4) Did Dana ever say what happened to the cat? Maybe Margaret is watching it.. or maybe there is a nearby animal shelter? That might be a connection.

I haven't developed these ideas as much as I'd like to, but I thought I'd put them out here.

ok this doesnt make complete sense. but wat the heck
split up the different text- just for fun, and u might get something that looks like this:

Chapter I. The Sleeping Princess friendless and alone

The Sleeping Princess friendless and alone The Widow I can't help it a proper fool he can't write his name or read a book I read, much of the night

Chapter II. Dana friendless and alone

the favorite of the plebeian masses
Being the friend you and I together allies, and if the queen pleased thrown into a condition of extreme danger best friend

Chapter IV

The Sleeping Princess passed through a great variety of scenes, and met with many extraordinary adventures and narrow escapes, which, however, can not be here particularly detailed.
I found a secret was revealed I should not be able to make any one understand how exciting it all was. I brought it home and hid it in a secret place

Chapter V

need help right quick, on the double being persuaded to come back Well, I will tell you that secret I found
maybe you can help me (?)

*** END: FULL LICENSE ***

And the other one:

The History of Dana
by
The Sleeping Princess

It is the object of this to present The news the queen wishes The Sleeping Princess sealed into an airtight container hiding from the queen Life is bare, gloom and misery everywhere Stormy weather, just can't get my poor old self together the blues walked in and met me The Widow will get me the sleeping princess are in hiding One must be so careful these days. the "pious flea" and "sleeping princess" (?) MARK but this flea, and mark in this don't like it a bad banana unimaginable filth and stench; and disease
Dana a friend/good guy.
Dana is not an artificial being. nor is she a program. She is human. She is flesh and blood.
Dana You're as cuddly as the cat
You're as charming as the butterfly
"Of course I will stick.
I'll stick by you though thin and though thick!"
This one means you're happy: Smile
when I feel That I shall never look upon thee more
Her name is Dana. the house is so sad and lonesome Dana
T-U-R-T-L-E Power! T-U-R-T-L-E Power! T-U-R-T-L-E Power! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Power!

Love

things which dont fit:

he.. referal to the widow as a he... hmm

and mark in this don't like it a bad banana unimaginable filth and stench; and disease.. mark in this. intepret is as ?mark it doesnt blame the flea, but doesnt make much sense either.

my guess first one written by flea,

second by princess (cos its so prissy and poetic) Wink

just a new take on it.

On the subject of hidden web pages...

In my wanderings I briefly played with a program called "WebStripper". What this program did is allow you to point it at any website and it would download the entire content of that url to your hard drive (html, graphics, wavs, MS Frontpage extentions, etc). This may help you find any hidden pages or at least take a snapshot of the entire url as it is right now.

It is on the soundtrack for the original TMNT movie.

Not to quote myself but...

On Tuesday afternoon, which is now about 5 pages ago, I posed a few questions about the secret (the one referenced in the email which is the subject of this thread.) I know we have expended a great deal of effort with no success. Perhaps it will be useful to catalog what we have done already.

I know people have been all over the files on that site, can we make a list of what has been examined?

This was my original question:
Quote:
Question: are there other files that the Queen and the Spider can not access as text?

what about finding the secret?

1. Something that neither the queen or the spider can find yet.

2. Ideas:
a. another site on the same server; maybe something dana was working on? or, what seems less likely to me, maybe something it created..

b. hidden pages or files on the ilovebees site

c. a hidden directory on ilovebees that hasn't been acessed by the queen.

I know that people have tried to solve all of these, and from the last blog update, it seems we will just have to continue to wait patiently and quietly until the next update.

I don't know if this is a lead or not, but when I Googled T-U-R-T-L-E, a constant result was cheat codes for the TMNT game. Note, these results always included the phrase exactly as "T-U-R-T-L-E Power!". I chose the X-Box codes, due to the possible tie-in.

Not a bad find, but still a gentle Trout for you, for posting the same information simultaneously in two threads. I respectfully suggest continuing the discussion in the other one, since someone has already responded there.

The Waste Land

I noticed something when I was reading the email: both the email and Eliot's The Waste Land have 5 parts. Part 3 of The Waste Land is entitled "The Fire Sermon" and is Eliot's lament about the decay and downturn of society. Make of this what you will, but it might be important.

I didn't see anyone else post this, so I hope I didn't duplicate someone.
