Not in-game in my opinion. This is a site for the business of the webmaster of www.darkplanetonline.com

As far as members.shaw.ca/humankindmedia/betasite.html , it just seems like a mild coincidance.

IMHO
It is a little early to be determining what is ingame and outofgame...
the rings and spheres on that website could be coincedence but...remember the latest bumper sticker says
rings upon rings and spheres upon spheres...something about they continue to appear???

In most ARG's, it is generally accepted that if you didn't get the address from a character or a known in-game site, it isn't part of the game. I too think that this is a red herring and was probably used as reference material.
