the SSH forums mentioned something about some trouble going on in Dallas, apparently mall security is preventing the group of people from getting the last part of the code for that location.

Hey if we all brute force it, we should be able to get in. I've gone from 40-20-00 to 42-21-10 already on the LA one. Been reseting the 2nd set of numbers when they reach 30 and the last set when they reach 20. If someone wants to take 35-20-00 and up, we can get this done fast.

all have been solved except for Sao Paulo. one fortunate person had to brave law enforcement to get the dallas one. the dallas one was found on the wiki, I believe.

When you open the San Francisco safe you find two pieces of paper. One is the final instructions for the people attending the event, the other is an image of 26 squares, labeled key.png.

Yea, the Dallas Event got all messed up by the cops. The Dallas PD is the reason that no one ever does any cool viral stuff here. No sense of humor. But we still got to see the trailer, and I got some great pics!

Went to the Seattle event. Everyone was extremely friendly and we all had good fun walking up down Pike Place Market. The clown was a real bastard to find though I'll tell you. Should've gone with the gut instinct of going farther up the street rather back.

For my first event I've actually participated in, I'm very satisified. ^^

So what happened in Chicago? Does anyone know? I am a little lost as I wasn't available today.

Security at Hollywood & Highland was rather fidgety as well. At one point we had a few of LA's finest walking around. I suppose I could be wrong, but it didn't seem to me that they had a good idea about what was going on. Puppet masters need be on the ball about that sort of thing when they expect 300 people at a location. There was no trouble though ultimately.

The trailer was cool, I didn't win anything. Here are my pics on Flickr.

I admit that I haven't been following this ARG as closely as I could have, I suspected that the henchmen (and henchwoman) herding us around were people who had found boxes with cell phones. But when I asked one of them he would neither confirm or deny. He had blond curly hair, and he was cute. Smile

I have a "camel back" type backpack and I decided to take it with me. Hoooo doggy was that a good idea! My suggestion is to prepare for a live event as if you were going hiking.

I liked the trailer, but the 6 min bank heist footage continues to be the thing that makes me excited about the movie.

I'd just like to say great job to everybody, both at the events and online! I had a lot of fun.

I had a really great time at the event--which was certainly boosted by being the "voice" for one of the masked clowns (he indicated that he couldn't yell loudly, so he had me do it for him). The group stuck together and solved the code, despite the pouring rain.

It was certainly a thrill to be handed the film canister. Suddenly, everyone was making way for me to get through, surrounding me ("protecting" me) as we walked. They really wanted to see that trailer!

Later, I was frequently asked if I was a plant, since I happened to know what happened in London (thunderclap8 being my source on that info).

HitsHerMark: your theory on the clowns being the people who found the cell phones makes sense to me. I know one person who was supposed to be there but didn't respond by name, and someone who I know found the phone and lives near here was also conspicuously absent. I've never met either, so I had no way to tell.

We had three clowns though, so I don't know who the third would have been.

Nothing in Vegas on this one so I actually worked yesterday. This sounds like it would've been incredibly hard to pull off in vegas with 99.9% of theaters being in casinos.

I saw the Bank heist with "I Am Legend" in IMAX, it's a great introduction to The Joker.

I'll getting a writeup soon on my LJ with .. 3 pics Razz

I don't know how many had their trail happen right downtown, but Toronto was nuts like that. People were all over the clues, I don't know how many people actually knew what to look for. The entire group moved as a blob, and slowly and surely split up as they had different ideas of what the clues were pointing to. It was a big mess. Kind of fun, randomly meeting people who were doing the same game Smile Star Spider and I met up, and randomly met another guy in some great joker makeup, so we were trio for the event.

The clues seemed pretty vague, considering we started on the doorstep of city hall, and had to navigate the grid of urban downtown toronto with fairly hard to decipher clues. I don't even know where the right answers were, because all the numbers we (the group we mainly hung around) apparently had were wrong in the end. So I can't even say whether the clues were accurate or not Razz. But obviously they were enough...

Somehow it seems we split up into two groups - who we could consider the 'core' (with the fully decked out joker fan who arrived at the beginning and is featured in this blogger's report), and the rest. The core, near the end, a fairly small group of 30-35 people or so (including me and Spider) ended up going to the theatre because someone said people were already there (and we'd found an old building for step 3). My laptop died, so I had no idea what was going on and it was so hectic I just couldn't keep up with anything Razz

A few minutes later, the 2nd group, a crowd started to trickle in. More, and more, and more. All had joker cards and raffle tickets. They'd all followed the clues fully and made it to the final rendezvous. *sniff*
They got into the theatre first, but we weren't left out, so we all got to see the trailer.

Star, another guy, and I were the only three to sit right at the front/center section of the theatre, so when the clowns came out to do the draw, they were right behind us Smile. One of the guys from our group right at the beginning won the raffle and took home the reel.

The really risk, bad, frustraing, and angering part was how they handled confiscation of the cameras and phones and whatnot. The guards were -slow-, and I don't mean speed-wise... they just seemed out of it, or not ready or confident or something. Metal scanner; they put electronics in ziplock bags and gave out tickets with numbers for collecting after. I put my phone and camera in my laptop bag. Thankfully.
When we were let out, it was chaos. They had everyone line up (not in any particular order), and for each person decided to ruffle through all the bags to find the right number, also not in any order. It took faaar too long, people got angry and worried about their stuff, and seriously, if some people hadn't stepped up, there might have been a mob. They started calling out numbers - non-guards. I was near the front and it seemed these people were still checking numbers, but who knows.
I got my bag, but did notice a number of people who had to come back either with the wrong bag, or missing contents. It was not a pretty sight. I'm sure at least some people may have lost their stuff.

Anyway, lots of exercise. Lots of fun. meh on the trailer, definitely nothing like the 6 minute IMAX preview. But a worthwhile event Smile
And that was only one part of my day... the rest though is for my LJ, not for here Smile
