Something happening on 29th? speculation. I work at Blockbuster, and they gave us Slusho shirts to wear on the release date (awesome!). We then got an updated email telling us to wear them until the 29th... what's up with that? perhaps something will happen today in the ARG?

I'm sure the only reason is to plug the DVD. I mean it's not that unusual of a request. The DVD only came out a week ago. They just want you to wear em for a good full week just to make sure that if anyone comes in the store that for some reason hasn't heard of Cloverfield yet does. They're promotin the hell out of the DVD if you haven't noticed. They're just tryin to make as much money as they can while they can. That's the way it goes. I seriously doubt their request for employees to wear the shirts till today has anything to do with the ARE/ARG, whatever the hell you choose to call it. I choose to call it an Alternate Reallity Experience, cause since July last year, this has been one hell of an experience.

How does a Slusho shirt advertise for Cloverfield DVD?
Most people have no clue that they're related.
What do you tell people if they ask "What is Slusho?"

I will be going to my local blockbuster and harassing the clerks for their shirt then.

I agree with your statement.
But they are Slusho shirts, not Cloverfield.
How does the average Blockbuster customer who has never heard of Slusho connect it with Cloverfield?
They're probably thinking "Where's the Slurpee machine?"

How about the employee's that have no idea about the connection of slusho to cloverfield. Ive called several blockbusters in canada to see if they would have gotten this promotion. Every person was like slus-wha? for cloverfield? I have no idea. So Although the ppl that are into cloverfield that work at blockbuster may know, the rest of the employee's dont.

It's pretty pathetic if a person working at a video store doesn't at least know about films released within the last month. I at least knew titles of everything new released in the week, if not the whole month, when I worked such sort of retail. It wasn't even my primary responsibility really, but I had enough exposure to be aware. How can these people help you find the DVD you want?
Oh wait, they probably can't.

Last night on NCIS they mentioned "Cloverfield" but they were referring to something else. And I don't think there's any relationship at all... but it WAS on the 29th

At my local blockbuster they didn't have a CLUE how or why Slusho even related to cloverfield... And i got strange looks when i told them they were lucky to get the shirts for free. I started to tell them about the ARE and i got "move along kid" looks... {which in and of itself pissed me off since i am much older than them, damned kids}.
