Honestly, that had to be the gayest remark I have ever heard. But then again, fighting on the internet is badass, y'know?

I agree with badass above, fighting on the internet is fun.

Takes the stress out of work.

Skatehimrock, is that you in the photo. I knew I recognized you from somewhere.

It's debris and dust, plus barnacles.
Some of the dust even lands on the camera lens, come on really? Parasites? come on man.

i can understand dust, and i know that parasites are out of the question, but i dont think barnacles could have stayed on Clover's back through the MOAB airstrike plus constant artillery fire. its just building residue and debris

The bomb is dropped at the end of the movie, so it's possible for them to still be there.

nah man, he gets bombed, and then we see the close-up, and then Hud dying. so i dont think any normal barnacle would stay on.

just before this, near the buildings, there are 2 black things that jump. they are small and fast. im pretty sure it has been discussed here before so dont bother trouting me. and searching didnt help. but im pretty sure everyone told him he was crazy, but watching the movie again they are there.

idk, just wanted to hear myself type...

Just a note, so i'm watching the DVD frame by frame, and the first time we get a good view of Cloverfield's head, when it's nighttime and Rob and company are running for the subway, Cloverfield gets hit by a massive amount of artillery. In those seconds, you can clearly see that Cloverfield is in pain, because there's a frame where his eyes shut close from the pain he's in.

I laughed out loud when I read this. Clearly when something blinks it's in pain.
You and myke definitely were born without the element of common sense.

Sucka, shut up. Nimrod.

Says the guy who can't spell a 6-letter word correctly. And the guy who thinks that blinking is a surefire way to tell if something is in pain. Shit i was in pain like...8 times while typing this response.

Whatever is coming off of him looks like it's being sprung off.

Debris would fall off, those things were shooting off of him, even from his chest / front shoulders, not just the back of him.

COULD they kill the monster? sure. imagine how thick-skinned a 350ft tall monster is. imagine again, that we have no idea about its internal anatomy. bullets aren't really gonna do much. nor are bombs or bazooka shots. they'd probably just bruise the thing, as the explosives aren't PUNCTURING it, they're just hitting it. they also missed, a LOT. comparatively, it's like shooting bottle rockets at your friend. he won't die, he'll just be pissed. and may/may not eat you.

Ok, you owe me one new keyboard. Spewed pop everywhere over the may/may not eat you remark, and images of teenage bottle rocket stupidity Smile
