Cloverfield-The Ride
Just an idea..

Behind this ride opens, a Tagruato Corporation video screen is outside, showing the corporate logo and the Slusho! Commercial. You can even buy a slusho! Once inside, you are lead down a dingy tunnel, consistantly going down a slope. Signs of "USGX cases" are all over the place.

The ride:
You climb aboard a duck boat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DUKW run by the NY Port authority in an abandoned subway. Your tour guide informs you this subway was formally a boat launching facility used by the US Government back in the 40's to do secret checks of NY Harbor to protect against german sub attacks with these Duck boats. Your guide informs you that your about to take a lovely midnight whirl around NY Harbor. "This is going to be the best night ever" he says.

You launch out, and head towards to the Statue of Liberty. Across the way you see a Tanker with the Tagruato logo. All of a sudden, the boat jerks sideways and a large wave is heading towards you. The boat operator quickly avoids the wave, but, after its calm you hear "Roar!" and the statue of liberty flies over your head. The tanker then rolls sideways and explodes. The tour guide says "ok folks, thats enough for tonight!" and heads towards the brooklyn bridge.
At the bridge, helicopters are flying over and people are fleeing. Just as you get underneath, people scream, and to your left you see the tail knock down the bridge. The operator guns it, and you barely make it through. Then the tail swoops over your head, and a parasite falls into the boat! The tour op grabs a weapon and fights it into submission then kicks it overboard. "Ok, enough of this, we need to get out of here!".
The radio in the boat becomes active, stating that the safest way out is the lincoln tunnel, get to it. The vehicles climbs a bank as 2 F-16s scream over. The tour operator says he's gonna gun it.
The vehicle now on land heads towards the tunnel. Bombs and the vehicle rattle because of Clovers footsteps. Just when you get here http://www.nycroads.com/crossings/lincoln/
Clovers two front legs block the road and his head comes down and roars at you. At the last second, two F-16's distract him and and you gun through the legs while parasites on the left and right side fall off the monster. Your safe!

Ok, so I have no idea if this ride could EVER be designed. I would just hope Clover at the end was really his size from the movie.
What do you guys think?

I think that would be an amazing 4-D ride.

Not bad at all Smile

The parasite attacking the tour op might be a bit difficult to pull off unless the tour op was somehow part of the ride. Other than that you've got a pretty good concept. Too bad Paramount doesn't have amusement parks any more (they sold all theirs off to Cedar Fair, who's removing the Paramount references on most of the rides).

True, although Universal Studios has plenty of non-Universal based movie rides in their parks (MIB, The Simpsons, Spiderman). Most of those rides have some human interaction like Jaws, Terminator 3D etc. Just an idea, thanks!

IF this ride/attraction ever got built, they'd almost have to have that as a requirement. And not just because 2'6" = 30 inches. If they didn't, I guarantee one of us ARG fans would modify the sign to say so Smile

Wow. If there was any ride where the monster looked down at me and roared, I swear my family would sue after I had a heartattack. That would be the craziest thing.

Gah, if only....

It would be even more amazing if they incorporated a scene in which the boat gets eaten.

But that would probably mean it turning a "Back To The Future: The Ride"
style. with the screen and everything

Well, the film really does feel like a Universal ride. At least that's how I feel every time I watch it, since it's like you're there and everything.

I think either I or someone else talked about a Cloverfield ride a while back. I'm too lazy to look it up.

It is an awesome idea though, it would really make me want to go whatever park it is in. I don't see it happening any time soon though, since normally movie rides are made a while after the movie is out.
