well i eventually caught up! now i am stuck with you guys Sad

I did think that maybe the grid might have to be rolled into a cylinder or something like that... going to have a bash at it.

EDIT: Nope, don't think that is it. I did find this though after googling the terms in the hint. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transposition_(cryptography) I think this is how it is done. just need to find out how to read it

Thank God...
Okay, now... apparently there are errors on Wendy's website we need to be focusing on, and the only page with text besides Harry's letter is her home page... I think....
I'm gonna go eat and mull this over.

Thank you so much, PMs Very Happy I'm usually the only one who gets stuck in these things lol.

EDIT: Oh, and welcome, Jabba Very Happy

We're past "Distortion" and on to the next step:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.wendyspage.name/important

I don't quite get the PM's message, 'cause the solve didn't have anything to do with the errors, did it?

For those who are only following this thread, we've solved the distortion puzzle here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25416

Remember, now that we're in "CF With Potential" we can create multiple threads. Very Happy[/url]

Oh wow. I like how that was solved. Jeez, it was so simple when you knew how to do it. I think my mind just shattered.

EDIT: Okay, looking at this new picture, the only thing I can think to do is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
brighten the image up a bit.

Hopefully I'll find something.

Hopefully you'll find something--I just tried that, but it didn't work. I'm thinking that we probably have to get rid of the background color on the web page, and I'm working on that now, but if one of you faster workers want to try that, then have at it! I'd be more than pleased to just have the solution presented to me.

After that last one, you (and everyone else) earned it, Piper.

No, I didn't find anything either. Something tells me that these rectangles go together, however...

The background is the same solid color; even with zero tolerance on a magic wand, nothing stood out.

And the blocks on the right are wider than the ones on the left.

BTW: How should we officially handle the TSR forums? Should we simply say "here's the answer", or let people struggle with it themselves? I'd *like* to be helpful, but since there are no spoiler tags there... or should we just throw a link to here?

And, at this rate, I can imagine we'll need our own forum for all these threads.

Okay, so, not all of the rectangles are equal in size, like Nighthawk said.

I've also noticed something else: The rectangles on the right in the left column are equal to the left rectangles in the right column, if that sentence makes sense. I just confused myself lol.

EDIT: And, personally, I wouldn't just give out the answer. I just PM the other users hints.

Hey everyone! I just started following this. Could the picture have something to do with braille? There are six sections which goes with each letter in braille, and the pic is named blind.jpg.

I'm wondering if maybe the background they're talking about is the one for the error text? Because we still haven't used that stuff yet.

Maybe we should just include a post that says "Puzzle 7" or "Distortion puzzle" "has been solved." And maybe we could include the solution in our agent notes? Or maybe we could post a link to the wiki? Or even to here. I'm not sure how the PMs would feel about posting links to UF, though.

I agree with that.
