[Humor] Bungie avoids the "B" word

I'm a little bit behind, but I was just read this week's Halo Weekly update from Bungie's Frankie. The one thing that jumped out to me was the purposeful avoidence of using the word "bee". Twice there is a reference to being "busy as a wasp-like honey-gathering creature".

So is Bungie just sick of all the bee referances or are they winking at us?

Here is the Weekly Update in question:

If they were sick of all the mentioning of bees, they'd probably just shouted "STOP WITH THE BEES ALREADY!" once and be off with it Wink I think this is a pretty funny way of winking at us... heh

it could just be some halo 2 feature or something they don't want out yet...or it could be an update for ILB? Wink

CENSORED

I wouldn't get your hopes up on CENSORED comments being related - they've been doing that as long as they've been doing the weekly updates.

Nathan's Laundry List seems to have several references to us...

Alliteration with the Bs, and the "abuzz..."

I am starting to get nostalgic about the days when I was merely a Halo fan, before I became a part of the team. I guess the current state of the game, with all the elements coming together led to the return of this fanboy! Coupled with a frenzied AI, animation is going to rock.
stricks a chord...

Bungie's being coy?

I think it was Frankie and the Bungie team just trying to be sensitive to the Halo fan base. A whole bunch of the Halo communities were flooded to the breaking point with round and round speculation on the ilovebees.com website, whenit showed up in that Halo 2 trailer. In one community I participate in, posts contain the words "bees" have been entirely banned. And this wasn't limited to one-fan community. The entire Halo webeverse (I actually used that word?) was lit on fire.

Since the bees things turned out so badly, I think they took a cue from the fans.

But, yeah, I do think Bungie has some level of involvement with this ARG. Has it gone the way they had hoped? Who knows...
