There is no relation between Ethan Haas and Cloverfield. Still.
Actually there is.. in a 6 degrees of
Kevin Bacon
seperation kind of way. As Sami_kaye pointed out (and it was mentioned often during the EH heyday).
Cloverfield stars Lizzie Caplain
Lizzie Caplain used to be in The Class
The Class had a character named Ethan Haas
Ethan Haas is also the name of the central figure in the EH was Right ARG.
4 degrees of seperation.
Now lets relate it to the Lost Arg (2 degrees, too easy) or Alias (again 2 degrees and too easy)
Now lets relate it to some more seperate ARGs and TV shows.. like I Like Bees or The Human Pet or the X-Files...
(Only rule "a forum on unFiction" can't be used as a link, as unFiction is by nature a neutral OOG area.. Try to avoid using You Tube as a link)
edited to be accurate per Kayberry's reply. =)

That was six degrees of separation. This is six degrees of Kevin Bacon:
Odette Yustman played Rosa in Kindergarten Cop with Arnold Schwarzenegger,
who starred with Danny DeVito in Junior,
who was in Be Cool with John Travolta,
who was in Pulp Fiction with Bruce Willis,
who was in Twelve Monkeys with Brad Pitt
who was in Sleepers with...Kevin Bacon.

No worries... I have tough skin. I've been flamed a lot worse than this thread could dish out.
Yeah, I know most of what I said qualifies as DUHObviousTROUT, but that's why I said use it for ammunition against your unenlightened friends. It was more of "here's WHY there's not two monsters" etc. You'd be amazed how many people in my neck of the woods keep spouting nonsense that we on the board discounted a long time ago.

I always saw that as a big problem for monster movies. Godzilla was a type of dinosaur, and the monster attacking Tokyo was simply the last of its race, resurrected by radiation somehow. That leaves the possibility of another Gojira being woken up by a similar process. There's an in-story reason for there not to be another Godzilla; that accident only happened once.
The problem with Cloverfield is that there is never a mention of a species of monsters, it's just one monster that hatched and went crazy in New York. How could there be a baby with no mother? And since when are there sea creatures where one baby was born at a time? Every aquatic creature I know of other than whales lays hundreds of eggs all at once, and multiple eggs usually hatch around the same time.
I'm not saying that Clover isn't the only monster in the movie, I'm just saying that there would have to be other monsters somewhere in-game in order for the story to make any sense. Perhaps the Chuai Station was taken down by a different monster, or maybe the monster in Kishin is a different one. Maybe there are others in the bottom of the ocean and they don't attack anyone.

Holy Shit.
I stopped visiting the forum for 4 months, and everyone's still talking 'bout Voltronpikachulostsmokethingmon...
Damn.
Oh, and Hud got chomped in half. You can hear the bone crunching in Dolby Digital, and if you do some photoshop pro work on the DVD...
Ouch. In negative lighting, you can see a pair of jeans being munched on by MGP.
Poor Hud.
