Now that's the ticket! Brilliant. And we're working from the job angle at the same time. should be up momentarily.

Well, since Belle and tabby are playing the sympathetic side, I figured I'd try things from another angle. Here are my emails with dad so far:

Quote:
Mr. Sharpe,

I write you concerning Samantha. I have a rather favorable offer in exchange for her use. I think you will find it hard to refuse.

Let me know.

-
Mr. Krieger

Quote:
Jonathan Sharp to me

I would like to hear of this offer.

Quote:
So you are interested, then?

Name your price, Mr. Sharpe. You'll find I am quite reasonable.

Quote:
Jonathan Sharp to me

I don't name the deal. You do.
My wife is calling. We'll continue tomorrow.

Oh dear. I was hoping he'd play along - I have no idea what to offer him. Laughing

I suppose he's remarried, then?

Ok should I email him that he'll next receive an email when Sam is in chat with me?

or

Should I accuse him of not being trust worthy since he knew the chat room we are using with out me telling him?

I don't mean to spoil any fun, but reading pages of chat logs flat out sucks. If it's a long chat, please just post the salient points and attach a text file containing the full chat log for those who want to sift through it.

Sorry! Let me recap...

Important points from chatting w/ Sam...

Sam has tests everyday except weekends. She has only thrown up after the most recent 3 test.

The logo has the letters MT on it which is similar to the chat room name (magictables)

Her mom is deceased. Her name was Diane Sharpe. She was a pharmacist at Savon. She was supposedly killed when hit by a car... just like Sam.

Her father's name is Jonathan Sharpe. He is some sort of contractor. Sam was able to recall his email as js.1984.2.0SPLATgmail.com Sam has never seen him sleep for some reason.

We helped Sam fix her computer clock by telling her the time and date.

Important points from chatting w/ dad (Jonathan Sharpe)...

He saw his wife die in a hit and run, and is reluctant to believe that she may have actually died from The Machine.

He wants proof that our story is true.

He believes Sam is acting fine.

He hates her cat. It nearly killed him the day after he got it. He still has scars.

Unconvinced he left the chat claiming that someone was waiting for him. Based on the emails that person appears to be his wife. So it seems he remarried which Sam hasn't ever mentioned.

I hope that helps! Now how should we proceed with dad?

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Nobly dead six hundred.

Bah, it's 7 AM! It's too early for puzzles and shenanigans! My brain isn't awake yet! Surprised

Nonetheless, I noticed there was an image in the email, which I've saved and attached.

Not very exciting, is it? Wink

It was hosted on http://poetry.eserver.org/ which does have the poem listed, here.

Perhaps a threat. Razz Oh my.

Wasn't there another ARG starting with a light vs dark teams theme? We were talking about it on the IRC last night.

That one hasn't started yet and is not related.

Sorry if I was unclear - I didn't think it was. I just thought it was interesting, since we had been discussing it in #magictables. Smile

Oops, hope that didn't come off harsh. Sometimes I fire off short missives that upon rereading sound rather curt when they weren't meant to be. Anyway, when the other one starts it should be a lot of fun too.

Forgot to say thanks to ineffabelle too for the nice recap earlier. Thanks!

No problem MrToasty! I've only been at this for a little over 24 hours, so I'm learning as I go. Smile

BTW The subject line of the email was: Stay out of this.

Also the mention of the Shell in the poem reminded me of the last thing Jonathan Sharpe said to us before he left chat last night!

Quote:
JS: You keep brainstorming on how to get through my shell.
