I signed up although I may be asleep when it starts. I am in Texas but it is unlikely that I will be able to participate in any physical hunting. But I will be ready at the search engine! lol

@Avatrix
Could you set up maybe three Google Docs? And explain where this is/how to sign up/join/ edit stuff...(I have never heard of them b4) This will save time later if it's already set up.

Why do we need 3 doc's? (Pardon the unintentional pun lol). - But I didn't think we'd all agreed on doing 3 separate teams for all this? Even though the majority suggests we do.

So if it is I say we do it like this

Team 1 - First 2 items on list. - Fourth 2 items.

Team 2 - Second 2 items. - Fifth 2 items.

Team 3 - Third 2 items on list. - Sixth 2 items.

Etc etc.

Personally, I don't care how we do it, it will get done one way or other. But look around, how many hours are already being wasted by trying to get organized? Do you want to waste those hours now, or after midnight?
If it's done now, it should save alot of time.

edit:
So, one list, with different ppl working on different items. That should be fine. Just tell me now how to get there, so I don't have to fake my way around when I am busy turning into a pumpkin.

Google Docs are easy to use. You need a Google account, which can be tied to g-mail address, or any other e-mail address you already have. I've created a document and made it viewable by anyone. I don't think we really need additional documents yet (I think it's best to avoid having a plethora of slightly-filled documents floating around), but we can create additional docs if needed.

It's a spreadsheet, and functions very similar to Excel. MS Word style documents can also be created. You can add additional sheets to the same document, see who else currently has the document open (in a side panel). You can even see which cells the other people are modifying. Names are color coded, and a colored border appears around the cell/area they are working on.

I was on a puzzle-solving team in January, and we used Google docs for tracking a bunch of work. Having fifteen people work in unison is a beautiful (and amazing) thing to watch.

I am going to try and play, but don't know how long I will be able to stay up - it starts so late.

Heh, there's already 4 pages and we haven't even started the hunt yet. We will have 24 hours to complete this, so maybe we should just wait to see what the challenge is before creating X number of teams or documents.

He may even have a specific challenge for each person, who knows. But with everyone being super smart, I doubt we will have trouble doing this in 24 hrs (unless we need more people).

Cheers, cool. I'll definitely be doing this.
North is fine for me, since I live in Michigan of course Wink
As for my x-men character.....I don't read x-men, but does star trek count? (if so, dibs on Spock.)

They did do a crossover comic with the original series cast, so yes, that does count!

Lawls Spock.

That list is organized pretty well, I see nothing wrong with using it.

Seeing as it was Esteed's idea to name the teams after Xmen teams, I'll leave it to him to pick which names (I'm sure no one will mind).

Mind you, it's just for fun.

Thanks for posting me with the south team Smile I miss Texas. Regardless, I'll be here ready to go! There is no real reason for all of the back and forth about teams. It is a plain and simple fact that if you divy up tasks to groups they will be done in a more timely manner. This all reinforces the THNAG mentality and should not create division. If this were a real situation, there would be different search teams looking for clues as to this girls whereabouts. This is really no different. Smile
