Recipes are not considered as intellectual property. That's why gourmet chefs, and big companies like Coca-cola and KFC has to keep their recipe a secret.

As for the subtle differences in the recipes, as mentioned above, different people make changes to the recipes to suit their taste. So I find the differences to be normal, especially since the recipes looks to be rather common.

If that's true, then I'd say all signs point to this as being our next puzzle. Any more rampant speculation as to how to solve it? At this point I'll take anything, even if it has to do with the master chief/chef and Lil_C, lol...
