I've seen some similarities to Lanai in Hawaii and San Michele in Italy but haven't found a match yet. Thought maybe someone could check out other photo sources.

Does anyone have the Google Earth application? Maybe somebody should start combing it to find out where this is.

Have not read this entire thread--thought time searching would be best. It seems to me that what's most likely to be identified is the bridge (at least I'm guessing that's what it is).

Where do you think the bridge is in the image? The two-lane road?

Yes, Esteed, that's what I thought but maybe it's just a road (now thinking optical illusion).

It could be the lead-in or the exit off of a bridge, but without seeing more of it I highly doubt anyone would be able to identify it if it is in fact a bridge. My guess is the cemetery is the part we need to focus on. Does anyone know of any famous cemeteries with a little circular promenade in it? Or maybe a central statue or grave surrounded by this circular area, so that a lot of people can look at it at once without crowding?

If not, maybe we should all hop on Google Earth and comb the area we live in, since we did have to sign up with our locations. It's possible Doc picked something out of a player's back yard.

Good finding #1! I was knew it was someone from TV in the past, but I wouldn't have never guessed Lawrence Welk. Good work thinking of Yahoo answers.

For the cemetery, if you have time, this link has photos of all cemeteries:

In order to use that, we have to provide the first three characters of the name of the place. Since we don't have any idea as to the name, it might be difficult to use that page.

EDIT: Nvm, the browse links work.

Instead of Cuba, I think that should be Carribean.

How do you know the cars are going wrong way? Are streets painted the same as USA in England?

You just select a country and then you can look for famous ones. It may not have the exact photo we are looking for, but if you find a famous cemetery, then probably could check on google for another photo. I would start with England. I am going somewhere so can't help. Good luck everyone.

But it also has Jamaica and the Carribean Sea.......Cuba is just the biggest island in Carribean, but there is more in the map then just Cuba.

I am going to attach a very large picture, with some notes on how I am looking at this cemetery.....because of the shadows of the trees, I rotated pic to be North (also could be South if taken in morning, but because shadows are so long, I was thinking it was evening) I'll take the pic down if is extremely annoying.

I'm guessing it's a US cemetery because the two cars at the top of your picture would be moving away from the van crossing the street,so they are on the right side of the road.

Don't know how I feel about the image rotation, though. He hasn't done it with any of the other images.

Re: Cuba. If they made the map any smaller Cuba wouldn't fit. And, yes, there is a lot more to the Caribbean than that.

Good analysis on the cars. I don't believe the image is necessarily rotated either. Just as a frame of reference I looked at a local cemetery and you can see the shadows are of a similar direction and length here:

Oh, and sorry I've missed all the fun so far. Been fighting a losing battle with my cable modem this week.
