I haven't found anything with those yet, but still looking. Could also be A=1 C=3 v13quiz.jpg maybe I will email the entire list to codemonkey.

To codemonkey from moi:

The file you sent = AJGUCVIZQP

It has no significance to anything that we know of at this time. Here are more than a dozen posibilities, but the code by itself lacks sufficient means to solve it.

And so it ends? (finally!)

Email from Codemonkey:

I don't know how you found that code, but it was what I needed. I was able to use ARCA to get into Ecstaticorps databases and retrieve what I needed for Robert. He's been informed, with evidence, and is now helping me to expose Ecstaticorp.

I can't thank you all enough for what you have done.

Hear some of Alex's last words before Ecstaticorp got a hold of him.

AJGUCVIZQP was the code then? Seems like there was something else going on with the file... Either way, Code Monkey seems satisfied. Excellent job, Coffeebean!

Is there a bilingual individual amongst us? Someone mentioned earlier that they spoke Spanish. I need a translator, stat!

ETA: Is this the end of the ARG? We helped expose Ecstaticorp for trying to spy on people, but do we know they're responsible for Alex's death? I guess a transcription of the audio file would help...

I think it's definitely over. Can't say I am sorry and the grade I would give the college students..... D- Mistakes mistakes mistakes and slow slow slow... not really the way ARGs are run. They spent more time posting out of game blogs (oh yeah, they didn't even know what OOG meant) then running the game. They were saying that the purpose of the game was to study results of the game itself, but they failed (IMO) to even run a game to study. The only thing I will give them is 'not a quitter' status. Even when they knew they should have just dumped the entire project, they attempted to salvage some of it. Poor first attempt, but hopefully if they ever try this again, they will be more prepared.

I am going to burn a copy of the spanish wav file and send it to school with my daughter, to have her spanish teacher transcribe it for us. I don't expect much from it.....it was apparently a conversation between Alex and Sophia.

So, HurtstoHeal is still going..... a freezer and a digital camera for breakfast tomorrow. It was moved to Chaotic Fiction here is the main thread, but look around, there is a lot more.

I haven't been following this enough to know all the character names, so forgive me if I did get the names incorrect.

Quote:
"Hello, Sophia Rivera"

"Sophia, it's Alex. Why are you meeting with representatives from Ecstaticorp?"

"Only one reunion, Alex. They have an offer on the table for (???). I'm only going to meet them to know more about the details."

"Why? We're not going to sell them anything."

"Alex, at least..."

"No, Ecstaticorp represents everything contrary to what I believe. They don't care about their employees or their clients. That is not what
Red Loyola represents."

"Alex, let's at least hear what they have to offer. It might convince us to sell."

"No, Sophia, perhaps you're not understanding me. We're not going to sell them anything, especially Ecstaticorp."

"The profits of every company that has joined with Ecstaticorp has substantially increased in value."

"Robert... Robert is in agreement with me. He also does not agree with what Ecstaticorp represents. We are not going to sell."

"Well, they have already made an initial officer that is substantially higher than the actual value of Red Loyola. As the Chief Financial officer of
your company, I believe it is our best interest..."

"My company, Sophia. My company. It is not your company. I am the majority shareholder and I decide what is the future of Red Loyola. Not you Sophia, not Robert, me."

"Alex, think of the money. Think of what it would mean to Stephanie and Marin (?)."

"Stephanie and Marin (?) ? You think they'd do more to get more money? I think... no, no, no... I know Stepahanie would lose respect if we sell them the company."

"Alex, think about it. I'm going to go ahead and make an appointment with the representatives."

"Don't even bother."

META:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Not the best voice acting in the world, I must say. Very monotone, and it's obvious it's being read from a script as it has no emotion in it.

And you can tell when they say the name "Stephanie" that they say it with an English tone and it sounds odd. Besides, in Spanish it's "Roberto", not "Robert".

True, but I have a few Spanish speaking friends who call a buddy of mine by his name "Robert", not "Roberto". So it could be either way.

Nighthawk: Thanks! Your translation is much appreciated. Smile

Makes a little more sense now.

Sad This arg leaves me with an empty feeling. I mean, it's a short arg with ONLY online communication, a hard puzzle ( I don't count the semaphores as a puzzle as much as I count it as a cop-out to end it quickly) and the most abrupt ending to an arg I've seen that didn't die. All in all, I expected a lot more. C-.

A Message From Behind the Curtain

Hello all,

My name is Jeff McNab. I'm the project lead for "Project Loyola" (Yes, I'm the guy you can blame for all of the delays). Let me thank you for being a part of this attempt at running an ARG. My team and I learned a lot from the process and hope that, in the long run, the work that we will pull from it will help others interested in the ARG community.

Unfortunately, at this time, we are having to end the ARG. There is actually a lot more we had planned, but we just don't have the time to finish it. My team, or should I say Ashley Waldbaum, the only other person currently working on the project with me, and I feel that we should end now and focus on documentation during our final weeks in college.

In the next couple of weeks, we would love to hear any feedback you may have about the project. What went right, what went wrong, the good, the bad (the ugly?) Feel free to contact us via project.loyolaSPLATgmail.com with any comments you have.

I want to thank you again for the time and energy you put into playing the ARG and hope that you had as rewarding an experience as we did making it.

Thanks for the game, Jeff! I'll send an email your way in the next few days. It's a shame to see Project Loyola end so abruptly, but given your situation, it's understandable. Thanks for all the effort you put into this ARG. I look forward to reading your documentation!

Jeff, I have to second Omega's message. Although there were some hiccups, I did enjoy playing. Not only do I look forward to reading your paper, but I hope that we can get copies of the original plan for the game so we can see how much we deviated. I will be sending an e-mail as well.

Ditto to Larry and Omega's messages. Even the game was too slow -which is understandable-, it was fun. Thanks for all the effort.
