There's a Duchess Street and a Duchess Mews (that's two characters in one if you count mews as the cheshire cat!) not far from Harley Street, though they are both a few streets away.

PS I reread the 21 Steps stories and even scrolled up to Harley Street to see if there was a hidden green marker. There wasn't.

Note to self. Must get out more... Rolling Eyes

ok sadie picked the mirror of ink instead of The Bridge, so she must be the girl from euston road...I think it's number 80, because that's the address TMA gets mixed up with, and noone else is listed as living at a number 80. Is anyone else about and wants to come to 80 euston road now?

I can head there after work.... I finish at 4:30pm

btw, quick google revealed 100 Euston Road is a bar & restaurant called Mirrors Smile

79 & 80 Euston Road seem to be a YHA.... Doesn't seem to fit to me... unless they have a used book scheme there or something but then anyone could have taken it

I could look on my way home, but there doesn't appear to be an 80 Euston Road.

The youth hostel is 79-81 (odds), but the smallest even number is about 120. Perhaps the youth hostel is meant?

I just tried to find the postcode on Royal Mail's postcode finder and I get King's Cross station as the result N1 9AL

EDIT St Pancras station postcode is N1 9AP but I can't find an exact address for either so far

hmmm he did say he'd muddled two addresses, so maybe it's not 80, but whatever address was muddled to make the 80. I can't see any address that when muddled with another one could get 80 though

I think we have to look at the puzzle like one of those "logic puzzles" like this one: http://www.genealogyworldwide.com/Img/logic_anniversary_puzzle.gif

And assume every statement is true (and not that one was in the past).

I couldn't solve it completely, but then you get that Sadie is at 80 The Strand. Weirdly enough that's the address of a bookstore in New York.

That depends on which of these 2 statements was made first doesn't it?

Quote:
Jacques, girl from Euston Rd will be by to pick up that copy of The Bridge whilst I'm out. TM-A

Quote:
Sent Sadie 0-141-02213-2 instead of 0-333-41285-0 in the end.

According to AQA it is the YHA that are at 80 Euston Road though they're not infallible. The YHA doesn't seem the right place though. I got so excited when I saw that Mirrors bar as well Wink

EDIT 80 The Strand got me a hit which read
Quote:
80 The Strand. London. WC2R 0RL. Tel: 020 7010 3000. Fax: 020 7010 6697. Email: sarah.davison-aitkins. SPLATuk.penguingroup.com.
Coincidence?

EDIT2: And the hit
Quote:
Penguin Books Ltd. 80 The Strand, London, WC2R 0RL

It has to be....

EDIT3: And a Books In London hit:
Quote:
Sadie Fields Productions Ltd. Telephone: 020-8996-9970 ... Penguin Books Ltd. Telephone: 0207-010-2000. Address: 80 The Strand, London, WC2R 0DE

Sadie Fields is our girl or is she just in the same office block?

The youth hostel is on the wrong side of the road to be no 80.

80 Strand is a large office building (Shell Mex House) with lots of well-known businesses there, e.g. Vodafone, Pearson, Dorling Kindersley.
