[H2H] Task Two Just posted by Doc:
Quote:
Use any tools at your disposal.
Create a sign or poster as a note of encouragement to BEX.
Gather a group of five people or more to pose with you holding the sign in front of a recognizable or google-accessible local landmark in your hometown. Have a friend or stranger take a snap and then upload it here to the forum.
Do not use any web addresses or proper names, but your sign must be readable in the photo and must include your user-name for this forum.
There are two "goodies" available in two special cases:
The member who's group has the largest number and the member with the most easily recognizable landmark.
I'm looking for quantity and quality.
Don't go the Photoshop route. Trust me.
And keep your signs, they'll come in handy.
You have 48 hours.
Doc.

it doesn't really indicate what we need to do to "complete" the task. In other words... how many people need to do this?
It would seem that if just two people did it, it would accomplish what he said. I am not trying to say that we shouldn't all go for it... I am just confused about how he will judge our success at the task.

Apparently, Doc is the sole decider of quality and quantity for this task.

Yeah, I am curious as to why he did not specifically mention a minimum number of entries needed to "pass" this task.
I will make the sign, but I am afraid I won't have the time to round up 5 people and travel to a landmark - unless a school counts.

Ya, I thought that too.
I can't think of any "local landmarks" either, this is biased towards people in big cities, damn the man!!!

I am sure that if the landmark is popular enough, there will be people there. It might be possible to get strangers to pose with you. Just make it fun and you could even tell them you are sending it to a friend in Iraq, or something like that.
Edit: He said google accessible local landmark, so if he knows your location, then he could search for a post office, or a city building or something like that if you make it obvious enough.

I don't think so... you could always stand in front of a church, or a park, or a cemetery.

I guess I am lucky with the landmark deal. Here in DC all kinds of landmarks. I was more worried about the 5 peeps in the pic. I have never been one to ask strangers to help me out so this will be a little out of my comfort zone.

Doc sure knows how to make some of us want to tear our hair out.
My school can easily be googled and seen via google earth - I am just worried because it is not exactly a "land mark". I suggest everyone try and make a sign, even if you are unable to complete this task. Doc did tell us to keep and signs as they will come in handy.

I am chaperoning my daughter'e field trip to a Museum in Milwaukee on wednesday. I am hoping her teacher will let me take a group photo with the sign in it. I dont think honesty will work though. "Hey I need to take this picture or this girl I have never met will freeze to death..." Might not go over well.

I say don't do it at all, and let him kill off Bex to show him how random this request is. Bye Bye Bex, so sad you got caught in the first place. But you gotta go. pe@ce.

Wow that would be an interesting conversation though. How old are the kids? Elementary, Middle School, High School? I don't know I am sure someone in this group can become creative to give you a line to tell the teacher.

I plan to tell strangers that I am on an online scavenger hunt and posing with 5 people at the chosen landmark is part of the task I have to complete. XD
...not exactly a lie, actually.

They are second graders. As far as a line, I was a politician in a former life, I can come up with something.
