Are these the names of the twins we need to send to Alice? If so, how does that relate to the whole real life/fictional angle?

So do these twins actually have the head of their father stashed away somewhere, and are trying to revive him? Twisted Evil

Great work, you lucky SOB's!!!

I've emailed Alice a couple of times today. First saying we solved the clues and were going to the Penguin building. Then after that a message telleing her the "code" we had found and that we were trying to decrypt it. And just now a third time, to tell her it maybe wasn't a code after all and the bit about the Mayans.

Haven't heard back from her though yet.

Just found this: http://www.mythweb.com/teachers/why/other/hero_twins.html

Quote:
It was when they were sentenced to the Bat House, they made their first mistake, in accordance with their destiny. Hunahpu decided to peek outside the blowgun and see if it was morning yet. When he did so, a bat sliced off his head and it went rolling out onto the ballcourt of Xibalba. His brother called all the animals together, asking each to bring its favorite food. The coati brought a squash, and with the help of the gods this became a new head for Hunahpu. Meanwhile the Twins told a rabbit to hide outside the ballcourt.

When the Lords of Death started the game, they used Hunahpu's head for the ball. As far as they were concerned, this made them victors automatically. But when they kicked the ball, Xbalanque deflected Hunahpu's head flying toward the rabbit's hiding place. The rabbit hopped off, and the Lords of Death thought it was the bouncing ball and raced off in pursuit.

Nice rabbit connection!

Why does "Xibalba" sound so familiar? I have a feeling that's been mentioned before.

Old t&i post

What's with "3,6,2,3" part of the old T&I post? Could it have something to do with this?

No shame, no worries!
Have you been lurking, or just joined in? It looks like this one may be ending soon, but if you like what you see, there are others that haven't been going for long that you could also join?
Very Happy

EDIT: As a little aside, does anyone fancy looking into the character names in Slice? With just the 2 of us trying to figure it out, we're not getting very far!

Are you after a namecheck? Razz

I have this really good book called (I think) The Sacred Stone of Xibalba. It's a children's book, with see through windows cut right through, and lots of little mini puzzles on each page. It's in my room. Is that where you've seen it? Shocked

Was he wrong about who they are? The two mythical brothers don't seem to match his suspicions.

Who is the Doctor in our world? My theory was that John Dee had made it into our world and only the other "brother" was still in the mirror world.

Hopefully we'll get some more kloos in the next few days.

They sound too good to be bad:

Quote:
Although many of their acts and successes came about as a result of trickery and deceit, this was viewed more as cleverness than dishonesty, and their roles in defeating the vain and arrogant gods as well as the evil lords of the underworld Xibalba solidifies their characters as being that of good

Update: now I'm wondering if we misread that final letter...

There have been quite a lot of suspect letters - are they just typographical errors or are they clues?

Mythological objects Take a card, and card The y of any appears as a d
TulipRootsForOnions There is only only The e of one appears as ly
contrariwise TMA signs himself TMH
A.L.I.C.E. the o of the pack (instead of the 0 of the pack)

Finally, a Magnum Mayan Mystica is a yummy ice cream.
