Just speculating!

As already stated by others (?)
"…dissident Princeton University physicists used Ong's Hat as a return address for anonymous (name of Dale's and Bruce's Co.) papers they wrote that went far beyond the accepted academic physics of the day.

Here, you had the elite physicists of the world contemplating the umbilical chord of the universe and what makes things tick.

… the IAS … the think-tank that was used to hatch the Philadelphia Experiment."

In the Philadelphia Experiment (mythos), the ship disappeared from one dimension, went into another one, then reappeared, with the ship and it's people altered.

I believe that CTW deals with the same issues that those physicists (and Einstein) contemplated … issues about the universe and what makes things tick. It may also deal with the Theory of Everything or GUT Theory … Einstein's dream or wish.

I see two Aglaura cities (or towns?) and I don't think it is a mistake. In the CTW (Dales's) story, Ong's Hat is renamed Aglaura (I will call this place Old Aglaura or OA) and is shown as such on the map. The other Aglaura (which I will call New Aglaura or NA) is off the map in the black 'void' (bottom right). I believe that these two cities are opposite each other in time/space/dimensions.

Following this thought, it may be that:
- Einstein's death-day in OA is celebrated as his birthday in NA (the day he left one time/dimension to enter into another).
- The librarian's birthday in NA may be her death-day in OA.
- Ash grove may be a cemetery in OA but an amusement park in NA.
(I don't know how far to carry this thought in CTW … but you get my drift.)

Tying this thought into Dale's accident…
Dale says (in his diary) "it was all my fault".
What if, because of the stress he was under, his lack of sleep, etc… Dale, in fact, caused a car accident due to a heart attack suffered while he was driving? Investigators would have to look at this possibility! Could he have had a death (or near-death) experience but was revived through the use of digitalis? His death in OA would have been his birth in NA! Could his wish in OA have been for money, but his wish in NA have been for life? Digitalis (a drug and a Being), then, would have been the catalyst giving him back his life. As a Being, it could have been the Life Force and/or Whoever represents that Life Force to him … therefore the myths. Such Being would have different names and mean different things to different people.

Could Diana and Meaghan also have had a 'death' experience (at or after 3:30 PM in OA) but have been revived into OA … therefore leaving Dale's house (in NA east would be opposite to our east) at 6 PM? This might explain the time warp and what Dale said he saw. An accident in NA would be a blessing in OA (vice versa)! Could NA also be a city of one's own making (therefore Dale makes sure there is a big library)? Could communicating with the people of Aglaura (since they are willing to communicate) give us a better indication as to which city, OA or NA, they live in? It seems fitting to have an 'alternate reality' in an Alternate Reality Game!

Just throwing this out as a possibility! Investigators have to look at all possibilities … even offbeat and strange ones! From what I hear (didn't see the movie)… no stranger than Solaris!

I absolutely love this line of thinking. You could also tie it in with the photo from the Lake of Tears and those Wes has seen hanging around the EOW.

Very intriguing spec!
And to further support it, compare the style of the current Aglaura logo (the one with "Bridging yesterday to tomorrow.") to the graveyard that was at CTW pre game.

 		Hey Snow

I totally agree with your specs on the Philadelphia experiment I looked into it a week after the game started and posted them on yahoo...but didnt get a nibble. I am glad to see that you caught it too!! I feel that we are not only looking at a shift in time but a shift between realities as well.

I wanted to add to the hourglass theory and of time running backwards and spec'd that maybe the blood running backwards thru the heart at Greatwater general site (oh it was pointed out to me that the heart is backwards as well) is pointing towards that theory
