Bah 60 posts and my first trout in almost a year thats like a record around here Laughing

Heh Wink you can look at it this way its confirmation from a second source of your original post

But I might point out that its not all troutish
Wheren't you the one that asked about the metadata?

I was considering some sort of attempt to check if there's a metadata history of sorts in the image, to see if it can be rolled back. Some JPEG images have this sort of thing inserted in them by some image editors. I can't remember which of my image editors supports the most effective exploring of the metadata (inlcuding the exif data, which I think I used Photoshop Elements 2.0 on my old Mac mini to read previously), so I hadn't pursued it yet. I would encourage others to do so, since I previously noted that the redacted (black lining) was done on top of a scan and print of the original document.

The photo analysis was mainly to show my belief that the odds are very slim that there is any hidden revisions in the metadata

I have no problem taking it that way. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that came to that conclusion.

Indeed, I can completely appreciate that. Adobe PDFs are best know for this metadata feature, and you may recall a story of a document the feds published that had been blacklined. It was done electronically though, and the file's metadata history wasn't cleared and disabled - so instead of being rendered and saved as a static blacked out document, it was rolled back to expose names and dates and such.

Oops.

As much as we've never seen steganography used in this viral, the scan lines in that image and other noise almost imply that it's been used in this case. I haven't practiced much steg work, so I don't know how to test this.

You're right, There's an almost infinitely possible amount of passwords.

Sorry for dragging it out further... Everyone back to topic!

I'm surprised by how much attention was paid to that transcript but nobody is giving the pics the usual scrutiny! Were those things all the same species as MGP, or are they another kind of sea monster? If they're as big as MGP then that structure must be the size of a huge skyscraper. How could it have been built on the sea floor? And how could you build something like that with those monsters all over the place?
Perhaps they aren't normally that aggressive, and something has to set them off before they flip out and kill people. Something like tying them to a tanker and dragging them away from home into a harbor full of metal whales that taste nothing like the whales at home, next to a city full of ants with guns.

... perhaps Teddy Hanssen's disappearance was his own doing. He went undercover using an alias (possibly the whistleblower) and naturally was reported missing because no one could find him.

there isn't much more to scrutinize in the pictures, really. we found the tag logo on the new years eve balls on the structure itself, and counted the parasites and whatnot. not much left to be found, IMO. we've gotten good at this.

the most interesting thing to me is still the depth at which they found the parasites. the tag subs used their scouters, and wait... the depth is.... OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAND?! what?! nine thousand? that can't be right... cooouuulld iiiit?!

which, being that it's at the chuai station, probably not. unless the mid-atlantic ridge goes way deeper than we thought. but this has all been milled over already. seems that we got what we could get from the pics. monster was at chuai (which we knew months and months ago), finding parasites on what could either be clover's back, or the sea floor, confirmation that tag has some extraordinary technology at their disposal, etc..

we gotta wait to see what alyse's "lead" is. the pictures themselves were vague little morsels to re-whet our appetites.

I guess I'll have to really find the next thing, not just reiterate what the game-makers put in another thread!

if you're trying to be a smart-ass, then you won't get anywhere with folks on this forum.

but, by all means, if you're stunningly able to find the "next thing" when people who've been up to their eyeballs in this ARG (for months) haven't, then lend us your powers.

otherwise, denote your sarcasm with a smiley face, or something, or else everyone is just going to think you're a jerk.

no one told you?

we've been sitting around waiting for this guy to join so he can solve the whole puzzle for us.

we've just been secretly having tea parties instead of trying to figure out this ARG mambo jambo.

duuh.
