[UPDATE]historyofantiquity has a new link (May 9)
2nd bacon message on that googlepage from Theo

The bottom of the page at http://historyofantiquity.googlepages.com/home
now reads, "For further reading, see our next passage here. ". which links to http://historyofantiquity.googlepages.com/newprincedoms
It's entitled
Quote:
New Princedoms
VII. Of New Princedoms Acquired By the Aid of Others and By Good Fortune
and sites the text as "Passage taken from: http://www.bartleby.com/36/1/7.html " The Prince. by Niccolo Machiavelli (1469–1527).

Plugging the source code into Weezel's handy bacon maker gives this new message from Theo. (broken at random points so as not to stretch out the forum)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Here's just the message:

Hrm...scary. Perhaps two coordinated personal labyrinths but running in different directions? But how would you prove that?

And even if people who participate are doing it as counter-counter-agents, won't it still contribute to the destruction of our world(s)?

I, uh, guess that's what TheO meant by "interview" in their e-mail. Want to be sure they can trust us, what better way to do that than make part of the job qualifications "here, take this metaphorical dagger, stab yer buds in the metaphorical back?" oh eww oh crap. D:

...well, I'm in Houston if anyone far away wants to pair off with me on this and at least see what it is we have to do?

Ah, just noticed that it was hidden in text from "The Prince."

Machiavellianism is the term that some social and personality psychologists use to describe a person's tendency to deceive and manipulate others for personal gain.

At least they're self aware... :\

Austin's not geographically distant enough from Houston, I suppose Wink I doubt The Oat would trust me anyway.
I can't get over how grim they sound. The message is grim, and the texts where they hide the message are grim. yuk.

I'm in Japan and distant from any other uF Ringers Very Happy , but if I become a double spy Noriko's forum might get totally confused (Japanese Ringers don't have any OOG BBSs)

EDIT: if the pair are supposed to do something simultaneously, latitudinal distance would be more desirable than longitudinal distance, considering time differences.

Just got a theo mail pointing to the new hidden message, so if you want to destruct the world with me, i'm in France (so i guess quite far from anyone Wink )

Just for you to know, here is the email i got :

"Khaos,

Your name could mean more than you know. It can mean destruction, but
also salvation. Given your late arrival, it may make sense for you to
continue to seem as though you are helping Lucie. I can tell you know
more until we know that we can trust you.

Look to the study of antiquity to learn your path."

Dav,

You are right to have your doubts. They do not understand the consequences and, if they do, they are selfish to still want to return home.

We have to know who we can trust. The answers, of course, lie in the study of the old world. Through those teachings we can find the correct path forward.

Looks like The Olive is out looking for the ripe pickings. I would have continued on this lead immediately had I not known that we need to actively fight synchronization to switch sides. Sorry double-doubles, I can't quite handle the whole "let's stop the synchronization or you're not joining us" attitude. I value synchronization a bit too much. Probably has something to do with that personal labyrinth I ran back on my birthday.

A week ago I wrote a long e-mail to the members of Theo and asked them for help concering my doubts. I never got an answer - obviously they didn't trust me...

But at least they should already know my name, and maybe this is the occasion to prove myself trustworthy. So if anyone wants a partner from Germany, here I am. Very Happy

I'm in Germany as well, so feel free to pseudo-desynchronize with me, if you want to ...

(aside:) One wonders whether massively synchronized desynchronization might not achieve quite the opposite of what it's originally intended to do ...

And a third one from Germany Smile

I got this reply so I have already established some contact (double posted in the other Theo thread):

Theo Live wrote:

Auz505,

You are very correct, the Six stay blind to the truth, even as they believe that they are seeing more. Instead of this Codex, we seek to find knowledge in earlier history. You have some interesting theories, but we do not yet know who we can trust. We will continue to study older texts to find our own answers. You should too.

I am also very interested in the lost ring. I am following the story of Ariadne and her group since the beginning.

I do not understand why they believe the things written in the Codex and why they follow those instructions "blindly". I think it is important to really understand the concept behind the lost sport and the many worlds.
But I don't blame Ariadne's group. They woke up remembering nothing and just know one side of the story (the one from the codex). Or do you think they know exactly what they are doing and the "amnesia" is part of big conspiracy?

It seems that you know more - even about the danger of the codex' mission. I think it is important to know all facts from all sides.

I hope you can enlighten me, before I start to blindly run a labyrinth.
AUZ505

Warinig for people wanting to team with me:
I am not a perfect double-agent becuase I really have some doubts about the Codex mission. So there is a good chance that Theo will bring me on their side, if they have the correct arguments.

So I am probably not the perfect partner for a 100% Codex believer Wink

Fits me as well - I cannot help feeling at least a little suspicious towards people who (after allegedly studying their "lost sport" for years and years) are not even able to distinguish between an Olympiad and the Olympic Games ...
