I'm kinda surprised that no one has posted this link yet - Here's what Wikipedia has on the Slow Food movement - it's kinda the opposite of fast food.

Haha...slow food...get it?

EDIT: It says that very few people in the U.S. and even Europe know about it. How then do THEY know, and how do they expect US to know?

DOUBLE EDIT: It's mostly an Italian thing, which is why not many people know, even in Europe. (No offense to any Italians out there :X)

Laymens terms, a resume, but it stands for Curriculum Vitae. They are basically synonimous, just make a resume and send it with the answer to the riddle i guess =]

Hi everyone.

It seems like this will be a 18+ USA-only ARG, having to make up a CV. I will probably hang around for the puzzles though, so please share them.

Yeah... Wikipedia was one of the places I was refering to checking when I said that I found out Slow Food is an anti-fast food movement. Also... Alice Water's Restaurant Website hehe

And no worries... I don't know what the typical arg demographics are, but most online games skew heavily in the male direction. I thought my user name was a bit of a give away though... but I guess vocabulary puns aren't everyones thing. Very Happy

Oh and nice CV Derek... I'll post mine when I finish it. I'm still pondering the best way to position myself in order to get the job...

Yeah that would rank right up there with the time my college academic advisor called my cell phone at 7am to interrogate me about why I had missed a few of my professor/her husband's class... I don't think I'll provide my phone number since phones just add the problems of living in a fast food society. Wink

I'm not sure I follow...

There's nothing about a CV that says you have to be over 18. And CVs seem to be a largely british thing. In the US it would almost assuredly be called a resume (though that's probably not true for very small pockets in both countries).

Is there a reason besides the CV you think this will require an age or location requirement?

Ms. Goldstein,

Thank you for taking the time to return my email. I am attaching a current copy of my CV.

I am very honored that you are considering me for this position which would give me the opportunity to continue my work with the Slow Food movement while working for a truly innovative company.

In regards to the riddle, I used the size fonts embedded in the source code as a refrence to find the letters after it which lead to the hidden message. I understand your concern, but I assure you that I would never go searching the internet for the solution to a job recruitment riddle. Clearly, if I wasn't able to solve it myself, I wouldn't be qualified for the position.

Thank you again for taking the time to review my attached CV.

Sincerely,

Belle Affeni

I just figured, a company in the US would probably hire a US citizen. But I suppose you're right, it's only a game after all. I'll try to make a CV too.

Hey! I'm applying for the Executive Chef position!

Guess I'll have to work out a cv tonight as well. Darn it. I was hoping this wouldn't require so much work on our end.

curriculum vitae is latin and most often used in academic circles (as opposed to a resume used in business). It will also include academic publications. It would not include references or "references available upon request" since your listed academia & publications should speak for themselves. However, don't be surprised if phone calls are made to co-authors of those papers just to get the skinny on your performance in the research setting.*

*I was an administrative assistant in an immunology research lab back in the late 80's - which, coincidentally, is where I first started modeming and discovered the social network of BBSs.

Probably me being WAY too paranoid, but this video and this video do not match up. Different hand gestures, a few different lines, etc.

It's probably because it wasn't actually filmed at the same time OOG, but it never hurts to be too paranoid....

That's so true! If I was hiring a chef for my company, all they'd have to know is how to cook a mean platter of tyson frozen chicken nuggets, and how to crack open a can of Amp...
