The last you remember is laying down to go to bed the previous night. Eight hours of restful sleep, and you're ready to embrace the day.

But this isn't your bed, or your room.

You lay atop an old four-poster bed, the comforter and sheets neatly tucked in around you. Your eyes take a moment to adjust to the dim lighting of the room, candlelight flickering from candelabras fastened to the walls. From your position on the mattress, there is nothing unusual about your new environment. A walnut wood dresser set flanks the walls, matching nightstand tucked neatly next to the bed to your right. In front of you sits a window, veiled by paisley curtains. To your right the closet sits, fully closed. Across from the closet sits what you presume to be the door leading out of the room, snugly shut.

Your move, tenant.

Edited to include Trailhead

Have you replied, and more importantly, any idea what it's about?

Maybe you should reply with something like "i will open the door and step out of the room"...or something along those lines.

I replied asking when rent was due, and then also said I was hungry and would go to the kitchen. Haven't had a reply back yet though. If this is a new trailhead, it might be quite slow to start with.

I've done all the usual checks, it wasn't caught by my spam filter. No code in the source that I can see, so basically I'm a bit stumped. and I received the e-mail at 1:45 am!
Weird...

EDIT: The gmail addy originated in NYC, although that could have been randomised. That's as much as I've got so far...

Ok good...I guess now we just wait to here back...and something I realized is...maybe asking when the rent due will not work. In the email he says its not your room...so he might not give us an answer that will genuinly help. I have no idea though...

I've been responding to this since yesterday treating it like a text based adventure. So far I've opened the dresser, the nightstand table, the closet.

When I opened the dresser I found

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
As you make your way to the dresser you notice a small cloud of dust kick up about your ankles, as if none had tread here in a long time.

One after one you open the drawers, each empty, until you reach the bottom right. It holds a thick, leather-bound book.

(Which I read and it said)

Flipping through the book, you notice that all the pages are blank, sans one.

In the middle of the book, on a single page, reads:

Twelfth Orb Hell Looms

Looming over which is a small sketch of a bellflower.

In the closet --

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The closet is completely empty, sans for a bell hanging from an old rope. It glints in the dim candlelight.

(I rang the bell but I'm still waiting for a reply.)

the letters from bellflower are all in that text, leaving TLTHOHOMS, but I'm not really getting anything meaningful from that...Moth Sloth?

After ringing the bell:
It rings once, clearly, and then you are left in silence again.

Under the bed:
You find a discarded business card, which reads, in faded text:
"Welcome to room 473, enjoy your stay."

After taking the candle off the wall and trying to exit the room:
The candle is easily moved, unlike the door. It refuses to budge, no matter how hard you may try to open it.

I think it's an anagram too and that figuring it out leads out of the room.

Well done! I was just coming to post it. I rang the bell eleven more times (for a total of twelve) and got:

You hear something, perhaps in the neighboring room, click -- sounding similar to a lock being undone.

I banged on the wall and yelled hey:

You bang and bang, but alas, there has been no response...yet.

This is great, I have been told that the bell has been ringing and that there was some banging, have found the same business card, though it was in my nightstand, and now I can hear you lot walking around. Are we sure this isn't related to Mr Boddy? I've just left my room.

I think it would be a good idea to keep posting our actions as well as the responses. That way I reckon we will start to build up a proper picture of where we all fit into this. Sound good?

Hooked already!
Shocked

EDIT: I just left my room and am ( carefully) chasing a "papery object"

EDIT2: I have a yellowing envelope with some weight to it. I am smelling it (!) and then carefully peering inside.

Your getting out confirms something I've been thinking.

I just received this:
Quote:
After you have done your share of bell-ringing, you hear the creaking of floor boards as someone steps out into the hallway -- and then a loud crash as the neighboring room's door slams behind them.

I think we need to ring the bell/search our rooms and figure out how to let other people out of the rooms since it seems that I unlocked someone else's.

My envelope may have a key in it, I suppose?

EDIT: I should mark this thread as a [trailhead?] no?

EDIT2: OK, I got a key, as I suspected, and a note.

Within the envelope you find a small folded piece of paper, and a ... key.

Quote:
The piece of paper reads, scrawled in a messy cursive font:
Why did God create a dual universe?
So he might say, "Be not like me. I am alone."

You hear someone banging on a door near you, whose placard reads Room 473.

Sorry for the Uber-long post, but this is what was written on my card:
Quote:
You find an old, discarded business card which reads,

"Welcome to Room 474, enjoy your stay."

On the flip side, scrawled in black ink, reads:

"It tolls for thee."

EDIT2: I have opened someones door. I have asked for their name, told them mine, and asked them if they have looked for or found anything in their room.
