hello, 1st post lurker coming up to periscope depth, here!

I did not see this one listed yet on this thread (if i missed it sorry i was reading fast in my excitement...)

coordinates : 42.2792 -83.7485

location: downtown Ann Arbor Michigan, on south main st., between liberty and williams streets. its roughly one third of the way btween, heading south from liberty.

it's been a little while since i was down there, but that block is think with art stores, bars, and specialty botiques. i am having trouble converting the lat/long into a mailing address. any tips, or did i just miss that above in my haste?

That's just a few minutes from my office (where I'm typing this at right now..lol). I'll see if I can't ditch out with my digital camera and laptop and see what I can see..*grins*

The cordinates in the water. Perhaps its one of those things that they use ot mine oil? My dad said its entirly possable that there'd be oil there. And the satelight pics are never perfectally recent. So its possable one was built in the time since the pics was taken.

Also perhaps something happened there? like a ship sinking

None of the LA sites are anywhere near Chinatown, though that doesn't mean they're not near Chinese-related things. One is in Koreatown. The Smithsonian, etc. don't seem to be Chinese-related, and LA's Chinatown would be one of the most distinctive, if that's what they were after.

Just also checked out the LA Locations, all have a Chinese/Korean resturant withing 2 blocks or so

Lot's to post, it'll be a while but here's one

I wasn't aware much oil drilling was done off the coast of California. And if these did have something to do with oil, you'd expect a lot of them in the Gulf and off the coast of Texas.

Finally I might be able to stop being a lurker and help.

As soon as I can, I'll take my camera with me and check the Kissimmee FL locations, seeing as how they are close to my house. If there is anything important there, I'll make sure you see what I see.

I know Melissa has already seen Dana, so could they be the positions of some kind of camera?

Looks like the Fort Dodge, IA location (42.5052 -94.1579) is at or near a Target store:

Zoom in all the way and you'll see it is on a divider in the middle of a divided street in the middle of Waite Park. It doesn't seem like that would be a payphone.
I'm feeling like a road trip tonight...maybe.

I guess I may have been wrong. I work for Target Corp., and we have a store that the address is 4201 W Division St, St. Cloud, MN 56303. When I plot that on Mapquest, it shows the address as being about a half a block away from the GPS coordinate. So there must be more stuff around there than I thought.

Find me somewhere in LA without a Chinese / Korean restaurant within two blocks. I'm just saying that if I wanted to emphasise a Chinese connection, I'd pick Chinatown over Ktown, WeHo, Fairfax, and Burbank.

The LA locations are around 34, -118. I think someone's running a script to collect the mapquest pages, so I'm going to wait for that before going through them all again.
