I agree Varin. The old webmaster disappeared and if I remember correctly, Ron hasn't even heard of the old webmaster.
So he just vanished eh? Leaving a passworded file on a webmaster tools CD? Suspicious!

Also, this seems sort of a weak connection, but is it possible that this cd uses the same sort of password creating convention as the memo?
I think we should assume, at least until we find a better lead, that the Webmaster Tools file is the one from the memo. Perhaps the previous webmaster somehow came across the diskettes and burnt the contents to a CD before they were destroyed (if they even were).

That's the assumption I'm going by. It would be too weird to get a password and then something that needs a password and not have them used together. I was just allowing for another possibility.

I asked Ron about files on "disks" or on servers (thinking maybe we were looking for a file extension on the TT website) and he said that they always use CDs.
How many of you young computer geeks even remember the term "floppies"? We now call all of those items "disks" (because that is what they are); floppy disks, 3.5" disks, compact disks. Ron even spelled it out in my email "compact disks" (rather than just "CD" as in Varin's email).
I'm hoping that if we don't crack this memo, Ron really figure out how to sneak us a hint in the website update.

Has this been bothering anyone else?
What is the deal with Ron????
He engages in active e-mail dialogue with people he doesn't know, and answers questions any IT person would find strange (about encryption procedures!!!!)
He doesn't know of any previous empoyees such as Boyle, but he knows the last webmaster's first name.
What exactly is his job? The websites were all designed by the previous webmaster, so he has pretty much been sitting around doing nothing (apparently leaving a lot of free time to flirt wiht strangers)
And this just takes the cake:
He takes an encrypted file clearly marked
"This secure file is the property of Tomorrow's Talk Studios" which pretty much screams CONFIDENTIAL! and not only posts it on the web for everyone to see, but invites these random strangers to try to decrypt it.
Either the PM's are having trouble tying the story together, or
Ron Daubert is our mole inside tomorrow's talk. He's probably the most important person to talk to right now.

Him not knowing the old employees is odd, but maybe we'll find that something suspicious happened to those old employees?

Well, he is working on updating the Urban Hunt site - we'll see today what he can do.

Well, it's only a few webmaster tools right? There couldn't be anything important on there.

I think he's primed to be our mole. He doesn't trust the people he works with and thinks they are watching him. He seems to respond well to persuasion. Prime mole material!

Actually, there are other breaks than that in the source. At first I thought it was just word wrapping, but it's actually the way it was sent:

Here is the file I found on the first disc marked "Webmaster Tools".
It seems to be password protected. I wasn't able to do anything with it but
didn't spend
too much time fooling around trying. I hope you have better luck than I did
and that something
in there helps you.

BTW, I'll ask around tomorrow to see if I can learn anything about what kind
of password system
might have been used on this, but I don't have high hopes of getting much
information. - RD

The first letters of that are: HIdtaiBomi. I tried looking for anagrams, but didn't find anything conclusive (or really even close). I do kind of suck at anagrams, though...
Tried to ROT and anagram these letters. Nothing obvious. Morse? Ascii? Still new at those...

Page is blank now (not deleted). Perhaps someone can upload the file for those that missed it.

Actually, it is deleted. The default 404 (page not found) error is an empty page. (You can see that by trying random websites at www.tomorrowstalk.com)

Uh, here it is (I've not uploaded a file here before, so if it doesn't work, that's why)
EDIT - just to be clear, this is just the .exe for those that missed downloading it, i assumed that was what Guest was requesting.. someone else will need to upload the html as I don't have it.

Thanks sequoya, that was what I was requesting. Interestingly, though, I just checked and the file itself is still on the server.

Remember how the "in production" graphic on the TT site has some of the tapes missing? 60325, 60326, 60327 to be exact.
Thought that maybe they were a clue to the pass. Maybe the "usual manner" as mentioned in the Memo is the show #'s, which would be why "Ed" included them in the site design.
Didn't pan out though. I tried all 3, but perhaps there's a variation in there someone else can think of?

passwords If this disk was supposed to be accessible to more than one person in the company then the password would be something that all employees could remember.
ADMIN - is a very popular group password
Company name
Name of boss
Name of department
Name of show
Name of city
Name of local sports team
If the disk is personal, it helps to know something about the password's creator. What do we know about Ed? We know he was good at puzzles, must have had some affinity for computers and was a web designer. He also suspected that his company did something very, very bad.
I would try some of the above ideas, but I'm at my work computer and can't download the file.
