Did anyone else read this?? It is correct, change the logitude to a possitive number and the locations are all in China. This makes more sense, supporting the theory that the operator is tracking Dana.

They are ALL OVER China, in the ocean, into mongolia, etc. Doesn't look like a person track to me.

Nobody is responding here... ok, like I said before, can anyone categorically deny there being a library more than a block or two away from any of these points? This way we can quell that theory.

Axons Go Hot countdown

The links pages shows "Axons Go Hot:" then the countdown.

I take this to imply that the Axons are now cold, meaning that there is
nothing at the coordinates yet. Do we need to wait until the 24th to check
these coordinates?

I can't find ANYTHING near these points of consequence. They all seem to be in random areas. Some are right on top of chinese restaraunts. Others are no where near any restaraunts at all.

Not sure what software your using but with MapPoint 2004 I literally see 95-99% of these marks fall within 2 blocks of Chinese/Korean resturants

There is NO library within several block radius around either

or it could be because china is on the exact opposite side of america. guess you can't exclude anything as of yet.

unfortuately for me , theres only 2 spots in massachusetts, neither close enough for me to go to easily.

I tend not to think that these map to locations in China because they already map so well to population centers in the US. Unless the population has an EXTREMELY similar distribution to the US, this line of reasoning is weak at best.

Any thoughts on why there are two columns of coordinates? Do the rows relate somehow?

I will totally eat my hat if it turns out to be more than coincidence, but I do have to admit that the Chinese restaurant spec is making me chuckle quite a bit.

Chinese restaurants don't work then, cuz these are precise to the 10000th of a degree, meaning we're talking smaller than a city block precision. Why use that precision, when we're talking blocks away. (And yes, I realize I put 1-2 blocks in my previous post. I retract that, and ask if there's a library within 1 block of all locations.)

37.4289 -122.1426 & 37.4304 -122.1413 are both several blocks away from a Dim Sum Chinese restaraunt. Cho's on California Avenue in Palo Alto California. Great place too, been going there for 20 years.

Trout me if you want, but I think we can divide these coordinates in different groups.

-Libraries (or famous buildings in general)
-Stores
-...ehhh someone else make a list of categories.

I think if we divide them into categories, and then put them on a map per category, we might see something.

are there clearly computers at all these points? the site could have only spread through the WWW, so to determine if these coordinates are actually where it metasized to, there would have to be computers w/ internet access at those points.
also, is it not possible that the coordinates themselves are just red herrings and we're suppose to be doing something else w/ those numbers?

Let's not narrow the scope to libraries. Let's look to see if there's cultural value to the point. In other words, what things would an AI seek to study if it was trying to fit into 21st century America? I guess this would cover a range of things, culture, religion, business, etc...

Are those categories too broad? What does this stage really do if it's just searching chinese restaurants? You would think the update would take a little more time to piece together than that, seeing as we don't get another one for two weeks.

I thought that too but how much of a coincidence is it that out of all these points on almost every MapPoint screen I center on there's a Chinese resturant Wink
