Indeed. It is similar to a lotus as well. I will have to look further into this.

interesting tidbit i just realized about the manga.. "matthew pitts" is listed as one of the writers - he was JJ's assistant during the filming of Cloverfield. just wanted to share. :p

Just to save ya some time bro, MANGA is a type of japanese comic, or animation style. Like, Ghost in the Shell, Full Metal Alchemist, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, or Akira- are examples of MANGA, although Kishin is a comic book, and not an animated series or movie. KISHIN, is the series that we have been checking out since the release of Cloverfield. It is a four (4) part comic book that JJ abrams is releasing online, and ENTIRELY IN JAPANESE, for us to find, and read, and it basically creates a backstory for the Monster. There are 4 issues, but there has only been 3 released. Kishin is the name of the boy that the comic book surrounds. Apparently he has some type of pod inside of him that has some direct link to Clovey, and controls him through some type of telekinetic connection between the boy, the pod, and the monster. I might be a TAD innacurate in regards to the storyline of KISHIN, but you get the jist of it im sure. Did that help out a lil bit?? Smile
